First of all, I would not go to the edge of a cliff with my back turned to someone who i have handcuffed thinking they are bad.

My friend laughed out loud in the theater when I whispered “she can’t shoot it-it’s unarmed!”

You can say what you want about the movie, but it got the atmosphere and the visuals *perfectly*, the street cut off, the obscuring fog, the gritty decaying surrounding... Rose is also a refreshingly smart, witty and relatable character, most of the time keeping on even when all the odds are against her in such atrocious surrounding, and then nearly giving up that one time - a real human moment.
It's a decently written story, with continuity that, while not perfect, modern movies can but dream of, and never come close to accomplishing.
It's also, among all the disturbing stuff, a heart touching drama somehow, with such a heartbreaking ending.
It really is, a well done movie.
I do my best to pretend that the sequel has never existed.

Loved Silent Hill…It is a dying breed of horror movies that built up tension and atmosphere to give you chills without resorting to cheap jump scares which is such an annoying tactic from horror movie directors nowadays…..

Go in a creepy school and scream loud what can possibly go wrong

Calling something "sir" that is obviously not looking human is so typical for horror movies.
But it didn't hurt the film in my opinion. Still one of the best video game adaptations ever

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a motorcycle cop wearing quite that tight a uniform.

My parents grew up very close to Centralia PA. My uncle even lived there for a few years before they closed the town due to the coal fires. It is a surreal place to see in person. I see how it inspired these games and films.

I loved Laurie Holden in this. This is how I would have liked her character Andrea to have been in TWD.

If you go back and look at this movie you will see that it is a masterful horror with acting and direction.
It just didn't make the spotlight because well, everything that was being released was really good back then. You compare it to what we have now this movie is 10 out of 10.

I may not like being arrested but I don't think I would see that horrifying being and then run away from the person with the gun.

It’s funny how these old movies had more convincing girl power than they did nowadays.

I'm one of the biggest fans of Silent Hill as a whole franchise of games (1, 2, 3, and 4 anyways), and when I first saw this movie I hated it, I thought it was a poor representation of all the scariest parts of the franchise us fans fell in love with, but learning about all the work the filmmakers put into this film, the hidden meanings, the homage paid, I now love this film, and watch it at least a couple times a year and having Akira Yamaoka come back and do the music was one of the best things about this movie, as he def is one of the SOULS of the franchise imo!!!...

I love that from 1:53 to 3:15 they used The Darkness That Lurks In Our Mind from Silent Hill 2 in this scene
