Damage Yourself To Deny Ultimate Charge - Overwatch 2 Tips

I like the interaction where you can damage yourself when you are full health on some heroes to steal a health pack from an enemy

Good tip.
But it's not the self-damage that kills you, it's that you boop yourself. So only those heroes work for this.

its not just damage, the damage must have the "knockerbacker" tag. which usually is on abilities that apply knockback but theres some that have it for no reason

Iirc this only applies if you take knockback too.

Something that may seem kinda silly but can also make a difference and that goes hand in hand with this, if you have a self heal like bap or mei's ice block, don't use it if you're getting booped off, the less health you have when you die, the less upt charge they get.

If I recall correctly, you need both damage and knockback. So, for example, DVa and Junkrat can't do this, since Micro Missiles only has damage, and Concussion Mine only has knockback.

if you get an environmental kill you get the ult charge based on how much hp they had left, it’s not dealing damage to yourself that takes it away, it’s booping yourself so it says you fell off the map instead of an enemy booping you off the map

And if you’re playing mystery heroes, and have a character that can change the game that could also be a good use of it

As a Lucio main, if you’re stupid enough to stand on the edge I deserve that ult charge

Any explosion that has a slight boop works. Soldier helix, Zarya alt click, Pharah rocket and so on. Its definitely usefull to prevent ult charge and if you want to rob someone of their environmental POTG

Also, if someone if falling off the map, if ur quick enough on tracer or genii, u can melee them and get back up and it will count as en environmental kill

This also works with any other character that deals damage to them self such as pharah, ashe and so on

Also if you jump before falling off it dosent give charge either

You can also do this with soldiers helix missile, I do it quite often if I'm being knocked off the map
