STRENGTH WORKOUT: 30 Minute Strength Training for Seniors And Beginners

Build muscle with this 30 minute strength training for seniors and beginners. This beginner strength workout consists of 3 sets of 4 exercises in 40 second rounds to enable you to work at your own pace. Just starting out? Don’t use any weights and get the moves down. Add weights when you’re ready. Use dumbbells, but water bottles, cans, bags of beans, or anything that’s easy to hold will do.

Growing older doesn’t mean you have to get weaker. The term “use it or lose it” applies to muscle strength and bone density that decreases as we age. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, studies at Tufts University have shown that strength training is one of the best ways to fight the weakness and frailty that can come with age. Done regularly, strength training builds bone and muscle and helps to preserve strength, independence, and energy.

So let’s build muscle and stay mobile, independent, and strong.

I’m only 27 but this video and these exercises feel amazing for me too! Most workouts or videos that I try go too fast or intense for me to be able to listen to my body properly, drink water, and take breaks, but this was perfect. I also really enjoy the energy that both of you bring to the workouts that makes it really fun and encouraging. Thanks so much to both of you!

My elderly dad lost so much muscle mass after covid. We’re constantly told by his doctors he should do strength training, because his diet is already good. But no one actually helps us understand how to build the right routine for him. Most youtube videos are heavy on cardio which is not what we’re looking for. Thanks for sharing this.

I want to let Aiko know that she is definitely not the only one working to get the opposite-arm-opposite-leg exercises right! 😉At 71, I have to really concentrate to finally do them, usually with a lot of laughter. 😂I found your videos 6 months ago and LOVE them! You are both my inspiration to just Get It Done!

I'm 71 and tend to not go out much. I am busy round the house but dont do much to elevate my heart. So I stumbled on your channel and really like it. It has apace that I can handle. Thank you so much.

I so enjoy all your senior workouts. If I only have a little bit of time, I can find one to suit the time I have to exercise. When I have a longer space of time, I can find a longer one. Both of your are a joy to watch. Your cat is beautiful

I never did like to exercise. at 72 I know I have to build some muscle strength. I tried other YouTube videos but didn't stick to it. when I found you folks I've been sticking with it. I've been with you for about a month now 2 to 3 times a week. I enjoy your interaction and I'm sticking with it. thank you, love you guys.

I just want to say thank you and I love your videos. I am 66 years old and have knee, back and vestibular issues. I have tried so many other workout videos but find I can't do all of the exercises. I found yours about 2 weeks ago and have been working out with you everyday. I even purchased a step. I have lost 6 pounds and have finally made it through your 30 minute hit video. Your videos are wonderful for any age. Your mom is cute.

I was thrilled to find a new routine in my INBOX and that it was a strength workout. I wasn't in the mood for cardio fancy foot/arm moves and was so surprised to find a totally brand new routine with some combo moves using familiar one, some mixed with new ones, and all new combos too. So imaginative but obviously well thought out: I had a full body awakening with stars flashing. I woke up tired this morning. Don't you know I'm revitalized! I really enjoy your strengthing workouts! I am 52 but have avoided working out for 20 plus years due to a slipped disc and fear of muscle spasms - whilst hubby works out with his full on weight training process, I do these three times a week and can feel the change already - you both have such lovely demeaners its a pleasure to work out - thank you x
