even when I’d go on trips without her she’d say “we’re going on a trip” cause I’d call her and update her like every five minutes and say stupid stuff like “mom the plates here are real china and look at this bird I saw” I love her ❤

I gotta be real with you chief, I’d kill to have that kind of relationship with my mom. Appreciate those moments because you earned that behavior by being a good parent to her, even if it can be annoying sometimes.

I was..until my stepmom said "okay sometimes I need a break from family time as soon as I come home" so then I would wait until the evenings to talk to her until she said "okay are you done? Family time over, now it's TV time." But what killed it was me sharing opinions that I guess she thought were dumb, but I overheard her say, "I just couldn't listen to that stupidity any longer"

So now 15 years later, they wonder why I don't reach out.

Just endure it for your teenagers sake. They want your support & validation & this will help them shape adult friendships. If they feel like they are just a bother, then they will have self esteem issues as an adult.

Cherish it! 😭 I was barely twenty and still in the clingy late teen faze when my mom passed. I still miss her so badly after three years

By greatful, most parents don't get to experience this phase. She feels safe being herself around you.

It gets worse in college, I call my mom everyday to tell her about a cool bird I saw 😂

I am the clingy teenager, like i tell my mom everything she is my Best friend, but we are having a rough time, and mom started being more silent and stays alone in her room and always tired and every lil thing happens she gets sad and angry when i talk to her she said"look i dont have the energy to talk and stuff i just want to be alone" i listened to her but it hurts that she is not feeling well i sometimes her her crying in her room, i feel so useless that she is suffering alone and i dont know how to help but to leave her by herself،i just pray ahe feels better.

Oh honey, just wait till the early 20’s start. I call my mom at least 40 times a day asking questions about the bank, laundry, cooking, the dishwasher, boys, work, school, etc..

Since childhood, my mother was always a mix between not wanting to have anything to do with me, and wanting to know everything I do (for control). I never had a healthy bond with her, and now in my adulthood she wonders why. 🤷🏻‍♀️
