In this tutorial, we analyze how intermediate surfers can refine their take-off technique in order to land on their feet with the optimal body position to surf down the line.

*Note:
At 3:35 in this video, there is a hand placement position demonstration. This particular demonstration is incorrect, as it shows the hand placement changing based on the direction you are going. To confirm; your hand placement remains the same on the surfboard, regardless if you are going left or right.

There can never be too many popup tutorials..I, ve fell into a terrible drop knee/pigdog pop ... at 4:13....Theres alot of debate as to if the centre or top left is the best way to start out..some say the one in the centre is too slow and drags you back in the longrun.. Kelly Slater himself said that it was horrible when he saw some one do it on dry land at his wavepool but then other surf coaches say the "walk up" technique is best.

I've been surfing for almost 10yrs but my problem is my back foot always lands in front of the tail pad.How can I remedy this and get my back foot on the tail pad on popup?

Barefoot’s public relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion we need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press radio and films.

I’m doing the thing where my knee lands outside my hands and my hips are squared to the beach..

Mind blowing what passes for intermediate nowadays.

I agree with alot of things you are saying but everywhere is different and you are way to slow but thank you for teaching turtles how to surf... it's way more simple it's pop up and go the angle the wave is going. Don't go to your knees and push up with both hands and your feet should land on the board at the same time. I personally let my back land about a quarter second faster than my left

Pretty sure this is a beginner issue not intermediate
