Why I QUIT Push Pull Legs (Best Training Split for Strength)

I'm back! Let me know what split you run and recommend.

I found the best training split for strength, here is why I am not running the push pull leg split, a split I've been running since the David Laid Dup and how I drastically increased my strength in powerlifting during this bulk. I squat, bench press, and deadlift to go from skinny to muscular. Is it the best training split for muscle gains? This is how I increased my squat strength and how I increased my bench press strength.

For all my fellow beginners out there, just know that you don't need to overcomplicate your training. Pick a program, stick to it and progressively overload. Be consistent and you'll see results.

Good take Kenny and on top of that in only 6 mins too, I’m tired of YouTubers who make 20-30 min videos that only touch up on the title of the video for a small portion of it

I used to do this program
Chest-shoulders (front)
Legs
Back-shoulders (back)
Arms
(Possible 5th day for core and endurance)
Later on, I changed it to P-P-L and I lost a lot of trainings with it and didn't hit all the sets and muscle groups I wanted. So I changed it back my normal and I feel like my progress started increasing again. Social media and marketing just got on me and changed my schedule, which was very good for my week, and I actually fell behind by doing something like this.

Kenny understands it’s important to grab your attention the entire vid he will go far with this method

This is a really interesting take; don't you think though, that the fact you've hopped on a new program (after feeling stagnant on ppl), i.e. changing things up in general might have also helped your progress? With this I don't wanna imply that your new program isn't more effective, but simply ask if there isn't also some kind of "honeymoon phase effect" going on

I think we can all get benefits from switching up our routines from time to time. It doesn't even have to be regarding our training, it can be anything.

I used to do push pull for years didn't see much difference , went back to the old bro splits and that really helped me get more bigger and defined muscle .

I find full-body workouts or a 4 day split enjoyable because i could get more recovery days unlike PPL where we had to drag our ass to the gym for 6 days and it’s kinda tiring physically and mentally.

Fitness is a lifelong marathon, if you wanna be fit until you’re older you can do that by simply making the gym a part of your life until the day you can’t go anymore. Of course there’s things that work faster than others but if you’re in this just for the confidence and nice looking body (most of us) ppl will work just fine long term and is pretty damn straightforward and easy too.

I am literally having the exact same thing. Did ppl for a while, reached a plateau and got bored. Currently doing Jamal Browner’s V4 program and I’m loving it. Bench is increasing steadily and my squat has exploded. During ppl I hated both push and pull, but loved legs. I’m loving the 2 compounds a day and really being able to push on the other exercises since those muscles aren’t that fatigued as on a ppl day 👌🏻

I mean I get it but as long as you are getting good results it should not matter what type of training you do. I personally do not have 2 or 3 hours available for 3 days for full body so I do push pull legs 2x a week.

I’m making crazy strength and size gains on Full Body 5 days a week, high volume, high intensity, good exercise variety too

4:58 The quad accessory is a leg extention because squat variations don't hit the rectus femoris, lunges are not a good substitution. You could sub it out for a reverse nordic curl if you wanted

I personally use a modified Push pull leg split.

Day 1: Push + Pull (chest and triceps)
Day 2: Legs
Day 3: Push + Pull (shoulders and Biceps)
Day 4: Back, core and cardio
And then it continues.

If on any day I have some extra time, I do a few core and Cardio exercises.

Regarding which is the best split, the one which motivates you to consistently hit the gym.
