I used to eat a hard boiled egg everyday for breakfast. This stuff is simple, natural, and delicious.

Hey everyone! Matthew Here! Chef and Video Producer of this vid! My usual way of hardboiling eggs is have a rolling boil of water, add eggs, cook for 12 minutes (hard) 10 minutes (medium) and 8 minutes (soft) and then shock in cold water. but this was a fun new way to try it! how do you cook your hardboiled eggs? :)

I find that cooking for 4 min then quick release then cold water i get the perfect hard boiled egg

Why do you need an instant pot to make boiled eggs in the first place ? Any deep steel vessel would do.

Instant pot was a game changer for my hard boiled eggs. I can set it and forget it. Love it!

You said a Natural Release for 5 minutes but you Quick Released when it finished cooking and beeped. Can you clarify the 2nd step.

But I just boil the eggs 😂 never been this careful.

You let them sit in the Instant Pot for 5 minutes and then do your quick release.

It's hard boiled eggs, - not trying to reprogram a nuclear reactor. Boiling water and a saucepan do the job just fine

😂😂😂 I am so NOT this careful! I pile as many eggs as I want in there - single layer totally does not matter, in my experience. And 5 minutes is way too long for large eggs, I've found - saying this not to be argumentative, but just to say DO experiment with times if 5-5-5 doesn't work for you! Because IP eggs are BOMB - so fast, and they peel SO easily!

PS my tried-and-true for large eggs is 2 minutes cook time, 6 minutes natural release, ice bath for as long as it takes. While the eggs are in, I get a big pitcher half full of ice, top off with water.

When the eggs are done with the cooking & npr, I pull the liner out of the base and put the whole liner in the sink, then pour (carefully!) the ice water into the liner to cover the eggs. You don't want to do this while still in the base, because there will be TONS of condensation - you don't want that dripping into the heating element.

Always fluffy yellow with no weird grey ring - it's worth the time it takes to figure it out!
