Here is what you'll need!

Perfect Hard-Boiled Eggs
Servings: 6

INGREDIENTS
6 eggs
Water, to cover
Ice, for ice bath

PREPARATION
Place eggs in a pot. Cover with cold water until the eggs are covered by about 1 inch of water.
Bring to a boil, uncovered. Once boiling, take off the heat.
Cover and cook for 4-16 minutes, depending on preference (4-6 minutes for soft-boiled, 8-10 minutes for medium-boiled, 12-16 minutes for hard-boiled). In the meantime, fill a large bowl with ice and cold water, creating an ice bath.
Once eggs reach desired cook-time, immediately remove the eggs from pot and place in the ice bath. Allow eggs to cool for 10-15 minutes.
To peel, lightly tap the eggs on a flat surface, then gently roll back and forth (taking extra care with soft-boiled eggs).
Pull away the loosened shell and peel any remaining pieces.
Serve as is or incorporate into your favorite recipe that requires hard-boiled eggs.
Enjoy!

To anyone who feels ashamed they had to search for this. Dont be, there is nothing wrong with educating yourself even if it is something as simple as boiling eggs. We all came here wanting to learn more and we should be proud of the fact that we wanted to expand our knowledge. Thank you

I have been cooking my eggs this way since I was 15. I am now almost 70. Recently I tried an alternate method . Bring the water to a boil first and then gently add the eggs. Turn off heat and cover and let stand for 5 to 15 minutes. Try it. I think you will find it to be a superior method. Happy trails!!

I am very young, and I have been cooking for about 3 years. I’m not even a teenager yet, but I make my own meals sometimes for potluck, and tonight, I made a chicken ramen salad with lettuce, bell pepper, boiled eggs, cheese, chicken packaged ramen noodles, and cucumbers. I think it is absolutely delicious!!

Easily the quickest most understandable video out there.

No talking head, no personality. Just simple facts and comparisons.

I was about to hard boil eggs for the first time in 27 years and I was going to put them right into boiling water like I do noodles.

Never would have thought about letting them sit or putting them in ice water.

EXTREMELY helpful.

Amazing how many ways people find to criticize and make a negative comment about such a good video. I thought it was eggsellently done.
