Easy BBQ pulled pork recipe in the slow cooker. It's as simple as trimming your pork butt, season it and let cook low and slow. Shred, add your favorite BBQ sauce and enjoy between your favorite buns.

Shopping List:
4-5 lb. pork butt roast
Rough cut onions
8-10 garlic cloves
About 2 cups Chicken stock or broth
Your favorite rub
Your favorite BBQ sauce

Homemade Rub Recipe:
2 tbsp. each of chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, course Kosher salt and brown sugar.
1 tsp. each ground or yellow mustard, ground cumin, course black pepper

Directions:
Trim the pork butt of excess fat.
Generously apply rub on all sides.
Add rough cut onions to the bottom of slow cooker.
Place the pork butt on top of the onions and throw in the garlic cloves.
Add the chicken stock.
Add BBQ sauce to the top of the pork butt.
Cover and cook on low 8-10 hour or until the internal temperature is 145'ish.
Remove from the slow cooker, shred, add more BBQ sauce and serve between your favorite sandwich buns.

Richard, very nice recipe, in Ky., depending on the grocer, they call these pork butts, cottage butts or cottage ham, I will make this & do a few drops of that liquid hickory smoke to the bbq sauce since we ain't using a smoker, another good stuff food like the collards, lol, you are on a roll with me on my fave foods.

Folks, pork butts are not hog/pig butts, a butt is a 20-33 gallon wooden stave barrel that they shipped dry cured hog/pig legs, hams, roasts, etc... a couple 100 yrs or so ago, I have some at my house, 2 are on the front porch for decor, lol, only in Kentucky.
