I’m 27 and working for the Government is the worst decision I’ve ever made. As a help desk tech, honest most of these clients are dumb to be honest

The disparity in pay. Private sector employees are paid at a higher rate than their government counterparts. Government pay and pension is a joke. They are not keeping up with inflation.

I started too young at civil service… I been in 21 years now and 45- that means I have 12 more years to go to get the pension. Problem is I WANT OUT. Burnt out… turn over is so high we have mandatory overtime and it’s killing us. Probably 5000 people have come and gone in my local agency throughout my tenure. Now a gov shutdown looms yay. I will still be picking cotton waiting for pay that will be higher taxed once the lump sum comes in.

My parents would love for me to follow them and work for the government but at 25 I think it’s worth trying to live out my dreams. The government seems like such a huge commitment

I am trying to avoid civil service like the plagues due to complacency. Doing the graduate program at a public college allow me to live an eventful life where I can be ambitious.

Very nice Video Armand as always love the knowledge!! Definitely agree with the age range. I'm 31 now and didn't really have a big interest for the government till I was about my mid 20s.

I’m 23. I’m interested in the many benefits and stability after being in sales for so long where there aren’t many.

I was 21 when I decided to go the contractor route bc I didn’t realize how long it took to get hired for a federal position and I didn’t have the time to do that process having to pay for rent and school loans when I graduated. Then I realized the money was better. 12 years later I’m being hired and joining the fed side. Hoping for that 5.1% raise too! 🤞🏼🙏🏼 I’ll see ya in the next one Armand!

Probably because the hiring process is so complex and younger civilian employees trying to get in don't have a clue how to do a federal resume.

Wow brother! This is a very good video and like you said. Stability, security and medical/dental benefits are the main reasons why I am still in the gov’t, but sometimes I’d like to take a big risk in leaving and start my own video-podcast. However, I feel like I would lose what’s more important for my family care being that I am getting it at an average and reasonable rate.

I started in the government at 25 and I am now 30. I have lost interest in staying government. I am currently applying for law school and I don’t think I want to become government attorney. I have very unique experience. I would love to be interview if possible.

Facts!! I work for the Federal Government and I make 30%-50% less than what I made in the private sector working in IT/Tech!!
I'm goin to be leaving by the end of 2024 or early 2025 for sure!! Not worth me staying much longer!!
