American workers are fed up. The “Striketober” of Fall 2021 and the “Great Resignation” are signs of a revived American labor movement.

But Americans used to strike a lot. And they did it often too. So… what happened?

Strikes died down before the pandemic literally because people would get mass-firings for strikes, it was oppressive as hell!

The semi lockdown response to the pandemic showed that the costs of going to work was more than or as much as their paychecks.

A hotel housekeeper who worked perfectly for 20 years...only makes as much money as a newly hired housekeeper. The yearly raises for 20 years, only equals what a new employee makes today.
Imagine other Americans working 20 years to find that out.

I think the system that hands out the consequence of losing one's healthcare because of going on strikes is a definite violation of the basic human right of access to healthcare. Such a system needs to be reformed immediately

*Profits* and *inflation* continue to go up while salaries stay the same. 🙁 😔

Self sufficiency and solidarity are key to the next iteration of human life on earth. Transcend these arbitrary scales of recognition, and manifest a higher state of life for all living beings.

Just to give you an idea. When talking about the Great Resignation the majority of the media mostly interviews experts and business owners. This tells it all about the condition of the workers who have little to no access so they can express their opinion and also little political represantation.

I'll tell you what I get from most jobs I've ever worked. I work 40 hours plus overtime if I can get them, and have maybe enough for rent and food. That's it.

I think the middle class was obsolete when the Great Recession hit in 2008. Ever since then you're either super rich or you're the working poor. With HYPER inflation rising it's only becoming worse. 💰

It is about wellness, simple as that, smart guy in the 70's came with the idea of why business should share profits with their employees, it will be better start fueling CEO's high goal, to improve profits for business.
That's why American worker are running out of pride, hope and prosperity.

Imo the only time id oppose unions its with police unions. They act more like the mob than anything else.

if corporations were not so greedy, and not so hell-bent on skyrocketing the ratio of CEO earnings compared to workers on the ground, they would not have outsourced labour to asia and would have hired and paid western workers properly. the money, power and real estate would have stayed local and we would enjoy so much prosperity that we sent overseas instead, to the benefit of the 1% and extreme detriment of everyone else

Very few individuals have a living wage even with college and the banks refuse to give loans to anything other than a mega house

Would it really be so difficult to just look at a 4 day wk wk? Be kinder to your staff? Show some compassion if they have health issues? Family issues? Mental health is real !!

It's because MOST wage jobs are paying you in "SCRIPT" (essentially).
