Показать описание
Over the last 30 years, the world has lost more than 2.5 million people and almost $4 trillion to natural disasters, mostly from floods, droughts, and storms. As the global climate continues to change, the costs and damages from more extreme weather related to a warming planet are growing. All countries are impacted, but developing nations and the poorest people will bear the brunt of mounting losses in lives and livelihoods. Jim Yong Kim, President of the World Bank Group says Typhoon Haiyan is 'a wake up call'.
