covid isn't necessarily the issue it's corporations buying tons of properties as well as airbnb properties being bought and not leaving many places left for families and homeowners to buy or rent hence the increase of prices

There is nowhere to move and no way we can afford anything while we struggle to survive....

In a rising rental market, a landlord would be incentivized to abbreviate a lease term rather than extend it. (to shorten the time to the next rent increase) And with multiple applicants contending for each available rental in many markets, tenants have zero bargaining leverage.

The wisest thing that should be on everyone's mind currently should be. To invest in different streams of income that doesn't depend on government, especially with the current especially with the current economic crises around the world.

If you're dealing with a corporate landlord there is no such thing as negotiation.

Why didn't she mention Wallstreet buying houses artificially raising the costs of housing? Or is that only consumers are to blame?

Lady this is so out of reality. They want you to move so they can rent twice as much.

I wish they would stop this type of reporting because most peoples landlord is a corporation and there is no negotiation.

Landlords don't make any money on vacant units. If they charge more than market rate rent they will lose. So it's apparent they these rent hikes are simply adjustments to bring it up to market rate.

Get all of the tenants together and tell the landlord you refuse rental increases without a years notice. People have to band together, property owners divide and conquer.

Taxing the land and not raising minimum wage. We practice capitalism ya'll. Capitalize opportunity if your spine and mind haven't given out yet.
