The issue is that while the medial head of the deltoid does show activation (as evidenced by the EMG) during these calisthenics movements, they are more in a support/stabilizing role. This makes it more difficult to achieve hypertrophy through progressive overload of the medial deltoids by using just calisthenics movements.

Converting from a cobra pose to a downward dog pose is a high strength intensity for front to mid delts. Also pike/handstand pushups arent too bad. Separately, if you have gym rings, face pulls arent too bad for hitting the mid delt

Wow you're so honest about some cons of Calisthenics, most videos that talk about growing lateral head show a bunch of extremely difficult exercises and it's ultimately hard to solely focus on that muscle

And rear delts, I think pullups and and the variations of it will build that. The more you bring your mid chest to the bar pull more rear delt I assume. If you could use the emg to look at rear delt and side delt activation with this in different pullups that would be cool. (hollow, arched, wide, close, etc. whatever you think)

I havent seen someone do this. Someone grew his shoulders with presses and rows. The side delt grew large and he didn't isolate it. It was someone on YouTube, I saw it in another video.

Edit: wait, anything where you are holding the lower part of your body off the ground with your arms out while you are facing down with your hands infront toward thr ground would also target the rear delts. I think...

the key is to do vertical pushups ups with a deficit, little wider than shoulder width and your head not being in front of your arms.
