Asus Z790 Bios with Microcode update 129 for Intel Raptor Lake Instability

I'm still running the bios on my APEX Encore from January and have had 0 issues since then so I'm probably going to hold off on doing so IF I see any problems arise. I didn't abide by Intel's/Asus demented VID table and applied my AC/DC LL undervolt.

I don't know if the Intel boss will be able to pay for them to do BIOS updates for long.

Im on old microcode and no plans for updating bios ... Tuned performance and thermals myself ... ACDC Loadline 28/55 LLC Medium, core offset -0.055 V, 253W PL1/PL2, CB23 score muti 39840k on gibabyte Z790 gaming X AX @ 13900K, no thermal throttle, stable as hell passing Ycrucher, and CB 10 minutes and 30 minutes runs ...VID MAX never exceed 1.360V, VCORE MAX pek 1.380 .Amamzing performance and low temperatures !

Hi, thanks a lot for showing that! I was hesitating to do that on my ROG 790I + 14900ks. one question though, did you press F5 to reset the bios to defauls after the flash, I m not sure if that needs to be done. I am asking because it does seem weird that ASUS default became Intel's.

So what settings do we adjust ? MCE ? Intel Defaults everywhere ?

Updated this morning on my Apex White and 14900KS. No issues so far, no performance loss to note. Interestingly my CPUZ was 996. Pretty margin of error for me.

Well currently the peak voltage i seen on my cpu has been 1.29 on my 13900kf after getting a replacment after my other one died this will truely tell if its a voltage issue or another flaw within the cpu if my current cpu dies.

Im honestly debating to update my bios im on a very old bios (506) and had no problems. Im thinking if it ain't broke dont try and fix. But i obviously want to prevent and unnecessary damage.

Do you know anything about when Gigabyte will release the bios update for the z790?

I saw that the temperature went from 38 to 33 after you updated the bios :O did you notice it mr bang4buck?

You shouldn't monitor VID,
Core voltage (vcore in monitoring application) is what counts. Because that's what is actually fed to the CPU v rail

MSI released a beta of the BIOS with microcode 0x129 as well.
