Meegopad T02 Review - Windows PC on a HDMI Stick! Compared to the Intel Compute Stick and Original

Meegopad was the first company out of the gate with a Windows HDMI stick earlier this year. Now they're back with a new and improved version that performs better and offers additional ports.

The guts are the same, with an Intel Atom Bay Trail processor powering the device along with 2 gigs of RAM and 32 gigs of storage. They've addressed some of the thermal issues that limited performance in the original. The device is still fanless but there is more ventilation. They've also added a second full size USB port and an analog audio output.

For the most part this device now performs about the same as the competing Intel Compute Stick. But the Meegopad also costs a lot less, coming in at $109 with an activate version of Windows with Bing compared to the $149 price tag from Intel.

Is it worth it? That's for you to decide. But for $109 you really can't beat the price for a pretty functional Windows 8.1 desktop computer.

Great review, I was waiting for that one :) Wished to see some Steam in-home streaming but it should perform as the Intel Stick. I know you can't cover all the use cases ;)

In the video you say it's best to use an usb hub with seperate power, do you have any suggestions? All usb hubs I can find have quite a lot of bad reviews, like damaging components etc.. Thanks!

hi great video really enjoyed. i just wanted to ask could i use this as my primary pc as i currently use a 2012 mac mini for net browsing and watching and downloading videos and word editing, music etc. do u think this will do the job even if i multitask. thanks for ur feed back

Nice review!  on the Win8.1 Activation, I got one and sure it says its Activated, but it also says it expires 7 Dec 2105, so its unclear if its going to run into problems at the end of the year...    Also, mine doesn't enter BIOS settings at all, pressing F7 doesn't appear to work, do you know if the BIOS is now blocked?       Thanks!

I have to assume this would run Kodi fairly decently?  I checked out the video of the last one to see if that one ran it.  Also, should this work on the HDMI input of a home theater receiver?

Hey Lon, how much space is free on the device out of the box?

I'm curious if I could run my compact Hyperspin setup on this device if enough space is available. I'm not so sure it would run great off an SD card.

I would like to know though, can this sustain an acceptable performance over extended use. Will it choke after playing a 1080p movie for 30 minutes? Some online user comments mentioned this, but no online reviews have confirmed it.

there just buy t02, about the screen resolution. Everytime the resolution set to optimal monitor resolution, the desktop image always bigger than the monitor, is there any fix? Thanks
