A lot of times people are raised in homes where they felt something was off with their parent but they just attributed it to them just being different or they were convinced they were the problem as their narcissistic parent told them they were. It then causes us to go searching to find out what is wrong with our dynamic with our parent. Is it me? Is it them? I always struggled growing up feeling like nobody cared to listen and when I did want to say things they like were then turned against me. It was hard enough being an autistic undiagnosed teenager I had to help myself or the teachers had to help. There was nothing they could do because my mother wouldn't help. At least with my own autistic children we have managed to get them diagnosed and to try to get some help. It's taken it's time but between my husband and I we are getting things where they need to be without my mother interfering at last.

This is how it was, but what's crazy is I just assumed things were normal and that the rest of the world didn't make any sense. I was so lost that I didn't even know I was lost!
