@costa83p I agree... I had a VIP member who requested on how to do it this way... like a spot blend and I made this video to show what I would do. Thanks buddy!!!

You can clear the whole piller. If you do a good job when blending the base, you actually can trick the eye and it will look awesome.

Amazing video man, this has been the one key stopping me from doing some touch ups on my cars. Now I feel confident in how to blend it back into the surrounding areas. Thanks.

@cherpa They do work. I've been using the reducer method for a while now with blending, and color sanding and buffing and I'm very used to it. The blender is basically the same thing but a different mixture. Try both and see what you like. Products VS cost.
Be cool!

You got it. Like I said you can also mess with a blender. I have heard some guys having great results with 100% reducer. I personally think it's just too thin. You end getting runs easily that way.

@ktpuawpainter cool!, I've used many guns for blending and if you have the right settings, you should have no problem with any guns. Thanks for the input!

You'll have to trick the eye and maybe blend the 2 quarter panels and the trunk... but yes it can be done. Try to get the best color paint match first.

Nice one mate - just plucking up the courage to get busy on our (old, thankfully) Pathfinder which is showing a bit of clear coat peeling on the bonnet. Cheers from Aust - Dave

There are a few, ASE, ICAR are the main ones. Bottom line, if you are good MOST body shops will hire you without any certificate. Performance is KEY, if you need to learn a little book work, that comes easily and the shop will help you get it.

Thanks for the video nicely explained and presented

Kind of late to the party but I did have a question I was hoping you could answer. When a shop repairs the quarter panel they often need to extend clear to the entire roof rail. When can you determine where to cut the clear in order to avoid extending clear to the entire roof rail itself? Some vehicles you can cut and the clear to prevent extend the blend to the entire roof rail and some you cannot. Hoping you can answer and thank you!

just base into the fenders. If it's a newer car and you have a good color match you may not need to blend. We cover all of these tactics in full detailed videos on the site: learnautobodyandpaint(.com) just look into what we have to offer in VIP. talk soon!

@77petesgarage This video was an answer for (spot repairs) and for spot-repair, this is what you would do. I am actually making another video showing the guys how you would go about painting the entire panel.
