How to Relax Through Anxiety Chest Pain

Noticing chest pain is a very common symptom of anxiety. For most people, that chest pain is really overwhelming and scary.

Many people visit the doctor or ER because of their chest pain, only to find out there isn't anything wrong with their health. It is their anxiety that is causing their chest pain.

What is the cause?
✔ It's the result of stress hormones (cortisol and adrenaline) in your body, triggering a stress response that you feel in your chest.
✔ You have gone into "fight or flight mode"
✔ You are having that compression in your chest as a response to the stress hormones

What should you do?
➔ Know that your body is actually trying to HELP you, not harm you
➔ Your body is trying to send a signal to you that your anxiety has spiked and you need to relax
➔ Thank the sensation
➔ Work through the sensation until you can relax and the chest pain eases
➔ Breath through the sensation
➔ Acknowledge it is a stress response
➔ Keep breathing, as you feel your feet on the floor
➔ Continue to thank your body
➔ Imagine that your chest is softening

This video actually helped me a lot more than others.. calmed my brain down right away.. it’s all in my head I have hella bad anxiety And always work myself up for whatever reason

When the pressure on my chest comes up, its already to late. The anxiety attack is next.

Thank you for this. I will relay this to my daughter whose son, at age 13, is experiencing this type of chest pain. This is due to him being bullied at school. He experiences this chest pains and has been seen by the doctor. He has had his heart checked and had blood tests done. There is nothing clinically wrong with him. I hope this breathing technique will help him to relax and deal with the stress he is experiencing.

I do also experience anxiety related chest pain very frequently. They occur mostly when i try to speak to someone. It just pops out of nowhere, which eventually makes my words unclear during conversation.

I have pain all over my body... it is miserable. I got checked by doctors, they found nothing major. Great news - but how can I relax? But they pain is pretty constant these days... well today it's constant. Pain in groin, inner thighs, and neck, face burning from anxiety as it does sometimes. Pain is unpleasant. I will try this.

Thank you this helped. My anxiety chest pain also happens when I am getting ready for bed. This is because I have bad sleep paralysis and it really stresses me out. And if I’m not anxious it gets better and sometimes doesn’t happen that night. After I have been doing this I only get some and little to no sleep paralysis. Thank you!

Thank your Dr's I am medical student and I am suffering anxiety chest pain for last two year and I believe I am have angina while I am studying pathology lacture and I don't need to go hospital because I have note a money and luckily last week when I learning my cardiology lecture gote my diagnosis 😂 and I listing your recommendations I today I am feeling well. Thank you so much. I just cried to myself before this video and my mind went to so many scary thoughts of why my chest has been hurting. I will go to the doctor ‘s this week just to make sure nothing else is going on but this video has really helped to quell my scariest thoughts.
