In this week's episode of Minutes With, we hear the first part of the incredible Nina Aouilk's story. Nina opens up on suffering abuse at the hands of her father and his friends, being forced into a marriage as a child, and surviving an 'honour killing' attack.

This is insane. I have a friend from similar background, and she cut off call communication from her whole family. ALL OF THEM. Married a nice man and now has 2 kids and has never looked back. She is so much happier and in a safe place. I am glad that Nina is in a better place. I wish I could give her a hug and tell her how proud I am of her.

Her family has no honor to retain. The fact that so many years have gone by and they still send 30-40 death threats a month is absolutely insane. When her parents die, I hope the only tears she sheds are tears of relief.

The irony in a so-called “honour” killing is that there is nothing more dishonorable than hurting a person who you are supposed to love and protect.

Imagine going through all this and still having the strength to be on this earth! What an amazing woman!

Im a grown man, 50 years old and not ashamed to say ive cried at every turn of this story. As a father of 3 very much loved daughters i feel SO hurt for her.

This woman’s life is beyond unfathomable. My heart is broken for her listening to the horrific abuse she has endured. Cultural beliefs do not excuse this abusive evil behaviour. Blaming her for not being a virgin yet HE and his buddies were the ones to rape her, while he mother stood by. The sense it doesn't make is astounding. The fact that she has been able to rise above the hurt and torment she endured for so many years of her life is a testament to the kind of person she must be. wishing her nothing but happiness and love for the remainder of her life <3
