What is the Ego? Does it serve a purpose? How do we transcend it? Does the Ego need to be destroyed?

Everyone has an ego, and it is not of Love. The ego is also not evil, although it is behind all acts we would consider evil.

The ego is not a thing or an entity, it's just programming to take care of number one. This programming causes us to be self-servicing, self-centered, fearful, distrusting, defensive and aggressive.

The ego is a sense of self, not something real or true. A sense of self is nothing tangible, nothing that can't be fairly easily overlooked, if its lack of realness is pointed out.

The ego is programming that causes us to see life, ourselves and others through a particular lense; one tainted by fear, judgment, limitation, smallness and a sense of lack.

The egoic programming creates a sense of being under attack or threatened by others and by life. The ego is in fear much of the time, and therefore divorced from Love.

This fear is an illusion, an imagination of something fearful in the future; not based on an actual threat in the here and now.

My God it’s such a wonderful feeling hearing somebody else with the same understanding of Ego as I have. After all these years I finally understood the importance of accepting my ego’s role in helping me survive my our childhood and this world. Without our Ego none of us would have learned the skills necessary for our survival while we struggle to overcome the diminished capabilities of our intellect and chronically disharmonious state of our collective (un)consciousness. But the fact that we have even come this far considering what we’re up against, not to mention we must have accidentally switched on the “nightmare mode” difficulty level (lol that’s just my sarcastic sense of humor) because battling collective amnesia simultaneously is pretty hardcore. 😅 We just have to survive long enough to hopefully remember who we are and where we’re going in this lifetime. But you can be damn sure if it wasn’t for our Ego, the deeply ingrained trauma we have all collectively experienced across lifetimes as human beings would hit us all at once instead of living somewhere outside relatively “outside of ourselves” for a while until we come to a level of awareness capable of actually handling the knowledge of what has been done to us without wrongfully identifying with it. It’s like our playmate and our number one ally. It’s as if it is guiding us through this life by the hand. It is vitally important to cope with the pain we have suffered in childhood. It’s kindness saved me from being completely mentally and emotionally destroyed by multiple traumatic events that have taken a lifetime to even gain the awareness I needed to BEGIN processing it in a way that was actually conducive to healing the leftover trauma of abuse.

The ego is the voice in your head that keeps telling you different little stories about everything.

The story of who you are and who other people are. All the time, the ego is evaluating and judging itself and everyone else. And the ego reacts strongly to everything that is not the way the ego wants it to be.

The ego reacts strongly if a negative uncomfortable feeling arises in the body. The ego will do anything to immediately experience pleasant feelings again, so the ego activates itself with something or puts something in the mouth for short-term satisfaction.

The ego maniacally seeks validation from others so that the ego can feel that the ego is good enough. The ego gets its value through others' approval of the ego. The ego is a false self-image (a brand) that the ego polishes all the time and shows off to others how good the ego is.

The ego stands for inner insecurity, lack of trust, envy, jealousy. separation, fears, conflicts and drama.

The ego constantly lives in a fear of not being good enough.

People want to feel unconditional love, we are human, we are told what to do and how to be. How can people connect when we can't be ourselves, we don't even know what or who we are.

This is kinda misleading, because I've experienced 'ego death', but didn't even know what the Ego was exactly. Not enough to purposefully, with intent, remove it or divide from it. It just happened. So I didn't ever have intention, it just happened. So for me, the experience of being outside of the ego, can come from not even know what it is exactly. Very strange. Cool vid

The ego is inflated or deflated ..its think its superior and entitled or less than and a victim ..we are all equal and anytime your head is telling you other wise ..its your ego ..

I feel you could go on an On about talking and I just want to listen more of what you have to say! You stopped at a place where you could stay there and tell your story of your childhood in which I wondered what that was like????

Great video, right now I struggle with things that you mentioned, thanks. I observed ego some time ago and right now I don't know who I am anymore (I think that's called dark night of the soul), tried to destroy it - as you mentioned - nope that is not the answer but still I feel like ego is sabotaging me because of past experiences. Any insight on this? Should I only observe? What about my desires that I know are not really 'real' but sometimes it is simply too much? Thank you again :3
