In the past during my high carb days I had some of these issues with dairy. However now after nearly 3 years carnivore I can enjoy dairy without and issues and without that addictive tendency. I think some people can cope with dairy once they have healed.

Interesting how different foods affect others in diverse ways. I actually had the opposite result after going animal based. I used to have poor tolerance to dairy on a SAD and assumed it was the lactose, but after going Keto about 6 years ago(and now carnivore for about 2 years) my intolerance for dairy disappeared. I wouldn’t say dairy is a staple of my diet currently, but I empathize with people that feel worse after eating it 🙁

I'm on my 4th week of carnivore and decided to try kefir after seeing another popular carnivore Youtuber drinking it. Here we are 24 hours later, and I'm having a rare stomachache! I've had a handful since I started carnivore, but every time it was because I introduced something other than beef. This level of restriction makes it so easy to know what your body is reacting to. It's amazing to learn about your body in this way!

Dairy and mother’s milk in general is appropriate for growth. It absolutely can be addictive by design. Having the trifecta of protein, fat, and sugar encourages babies to eat more which is an evolutionary adaptation to ensure survival of the species. Personally, I was also dairy free when I started carnivore because I was reacting to it. Much like you, after a period of time, I tried adding dairy back in and found that I was able to tolerate it much better. Now, I use it on occasion and specifically for growth / muscle building, but a negative of dairy is that it does encourage storage of body fat. If I use it, I have to cycle it in and out of my diet.

I used to have that addictive eating behavior around dairy although I have never had any disordered relationship with food otherwise in my life. Then my doc decided to do a thyroid test "just to check" even though I had no thyroid symptoms. It turns out that my thyroid had sustained some damage due to cancer treatments years ago. Once I got my thyroid levels sorted out with some Armour Thyroid (not the Levothyroxine synthetic stuff, this is actual pig thyroid) then the dairy cravings simply stopped. I had no idea that these could be linked so I was not expecting this at all, hence not a placebo effect. It was a weird but wonderful thing. Now I can have a bite of cheese and put the rest back in the fridge where before, it was the whole package or don't even buy it in the first place.

I loved cream in my coffee and I loved hard cheese and Greek yoghurt . But I found it addictive . I couldn’t moderate cheese or yoghurt, plus they’d make my knees hurt and burn, I’d feel bloated. I’ve tried adding it back in but not worked out . I have butter in my coffee now but even that I’ve noticed can be addictive. I’m considering doing a month without coffee

Cheese is very addictive. And I agree that if any food feels so moreish that you don't want to stop eating it, then it's probably not doing us any good-booo! Lol. Loving your hair-so pretty 😊

I love certain types of dairy, but like you it makes me break out and well I am lactose intolerant. I went from Ketovore to strict Carnivore last week and it made all the difference in the world. One night I decided to have butter on my steak like I used too and was in the bathroom for two hours! It's so hard to stay 100% strict when you are cooking for others and they get bored of the same thing over and over, but I do my best. I agree about staying away, but using it on special occasions. I make a killer Keto Cheesecake every Thanksgiving and Christmas, plus a jalapeno parmesean artichoke dip for christmas too! I hate that bloated feeling and sometimes it last for more then 24 hours. My journey has been circuitous, but overall, I lost 120 pounds in the course of 20 years...as you can imagine, I've actually lost much more then that as I've fell off the wagon a few times, plus 4 surgeries in last 3 years. Have 30 pounds to go and I am not quitting now! Plus it helps my arthritis and multitude of other medical issues, as well as confidence and self-esteem. :)

I disagree about we are the only species that drinks cow milk. My dog loves it, cats love it. I bet if you put a bowl of milk outside it will get consumed by some critter. I've been drinking raw milk for years, no problems here. Also, the studies you mention I'd be willing to bet they use pasteurized/homoginized, etc. milk... store bought garbage with synthetic nutrients added back in.

Thanks! Still trying to discern if dairy is hindering or helping me. I use HWC & some raw cheese. Helpful to hear others experiences with it.

I've been doing carnivore for 5 days I'm down almost 5lbs. Started at about 300lbs now 294.8. Pretty blown away! I was a dairy lover as far as cheese goes it was always part of my breakfast. I've cut it out almost completely minus Tablespoon of creamer in my coffee. TMI but I always had issues with multiple BMs in the morning. Only 1 now which is wild. Don't know if it was the dairy but I'm excited to see the progress for the next 25 days

Milk has natural sugars in it. If you remove the fat, which is a large component, then one cup of non fat milk has more relative sugar than if the cat was still there. So you are getting more sugar just because of that. If they are adding more, OMG.

Thanks for sharing this. I agree. I've been using a little whipping cream (not whipped) in coffee occasionally (not every day) but I stopped all other dairy.

I tried cheddar Goat Cheese, and it tasted great, a little gamey Luke goat, but yummy. However, I noticed I had an itchy scalp afterward (my telltale sign that something is not good for me) so I decided that no more animal milk products for me. 😔

Actually I don't mind. I've suffered for 12 years (60 now) from all kinds of autoimmune disease symptoms such as really horrendous eczema, arthritis, GERD, weight gain, and inflammation of my hands and feet, and in my joints. Most of it is gone after 35 days on Carnivore. Some joint issues are taking a little time. But overall a 97% health recovery and losing weight too.

When I consumed any/and or all dairy including raw I noticed my under eyes would get really swollen and puffy and I could feel more mucus in the back of my throat and a stuffy upper nose and I feel very irritable so I just cut out all dairy period!! I have a store nearby that carries raw butter, raw cheese, raw kefir, raw milk even raw goat milk but I stay away from it because once I begin consumption I cannot stop myself 😂😂

Hey just wanted to ask what kind of water do you drink? Do you buy bottles or drink tap? But other than that very nice videos.
