I’ve been making water Kefir at home for about 5 years. It’s my treat everyday…I’ve been Carnivore now for 8 years, no weight to lose and feeling much younger than my 72 years!

Absolutely correct! I have kefir every day that I make and I’m still in ketosis.

I've been making my own yogurt, originally from a Bulgarian starter for decades now because of that. I let it ferment for a minimum of 14 hours. I also add extra heavy cream to it. We're always racing to be the first one to get to the creamy fermented top layer on the yogurt. It's especially delicious.

Thats what we do! Raw milk and kefir grains, fermented for 48 hours

I buy the plain kefir. When the bottle is 90% empty I fill it up with whole milk. I incubate it at 90°-70° for 8 to 12 hours. ( Overnight on a shaded porch works great in summer.) Shake it 2 or three times during incubation. 2 bottles of kefir for a big discount. I get kefir which advertises live cultures.. AND the second batch is creamy, and better than the commercial product.👏
A2 milk. Yummy.

Our friends/neighbors own a dairy farm 😊 I love kefir, the grains multiply tremendously. I was to the point of eating some of the keifer grains to cut back on the amount of grains I had, I didn't want them to go to waste. The grains are actually beneficial too.
I need to start making it again!

I buy RAW milk and ferment my own kefir with grains from my farmer. It healed 2 issues I had within 3 months. I drink 3oz every morning and also give it to my dogs.
It's wonderful medicine!

I make my own "Creme fraiche" adding some Kefir to Cream.

I also tried adding yogurt and it was worse.

(Creme fraiche, more popular in Europe, would be like a less acidic version of US sour cream)

I make yogurt in my dehydrator with 1/2 and 1/2. It is so creamy and we use it in place of sour cream.

I've been fermenting for a long time and if a fermented product is in the refrigerated section it is usually a live culture and if stored at room temperature it would continue to ferment and could explode. If it's continuously stored under refrigeration it will not explode as the fermentation gets really slow in a cold environment. Just wanted to clear that up so people don't think fermented foods stored in the fridge can explode. They won't.

You can buy raw kefir at sprouts. It’s actually fermented

Lovely to hear that some folks can access raw milk to use in the process.

When you start with kifer grains use 2% for the first two batches. Starting with full fat milk can cause the grains to get fat logged and not allow the fermentation to progress or it will be really slow. After the first couple of batches you can change to full fat.

This is excellent advice, and there are tons of good Kefir experts on YouTube. Let the homebrew research begin! Go, start now!

Thanks! I make full fat kefir and have some plain! It helped with my heath before keto so it’s nice to know I can still have it! I was considering switching to water kefir but still it takes a sugar to ferment!

Kombucha is pretty awesome. But if u buy it on the store, leave the bottle at room temp for a week or 2 🤙

Ty. Just in time. Bought Kefir yesterday - homemade quality - from the health food store. I was second guessing myself all the day long. I will try a bit tomorrow, but I have a feeling that it's going to be one of those foods that will hurt me a bit simply b/c it has carbs/lactose, whilst healing my gut @ the same time.

I had a great day - achieved pain reduction & feel I can manage it better now. I literally wanted to end it a couple of times this past week due to tooth decay.

Went thru protocol after protocol. Have an idea now about what works & what doesn't.
