My many years of experience and sampling tell me that colonies that have not yet been treated for mites need it NOW, by early September. Those that do not are the exception NOT the rule!

Follow up question. How do you determine how many boxes they need and why ?

Another good video. Let the critics criticize. You and your bees will pay the price for not treating. I treated with Formic back in Aug. There are a couple of queens I haven't laid eyes on. But there is sealed brood and young larvae. The hives don't act queenless. Time will tell.
