Anytime you ask a doctor about any home remedy, they're going to tell you to let them do it instead. They can't make money off of you when you do cosmetic stuff like this yourself.

As a street certified dermatologist, I say this is the safest, cheapest, and painless way to remove a wart/mole.
There's little chance for infection, but as long as you keep the area clean and clear, you should be good.

I've used this method multiple times. I've actually completely removed a wart on my knee by using sewing string.

Moles can be removed by putting cotton wool with apple cider vinegar on it overnight for a few days. It litterally melts them into a black scab that falls off. Doesn't affect the surrounding skin at all. Works with warts too.

I tied a hair around a mole like this one for my grandma and it fell off maybe a day or two days later with no issues.
