He is right about that! I was told we shouldn't take probiotics for at least 30 to 45 days after the antibiotics. Prebiotics are recommended soon after but not probiotics 👍

My dentist gave me 2 rounds of omoxicillin, then my endodontist gave me 1 round of penicillin for a tooth infection all within a month and a half. I didn't feel bad at first, but a little over 30 days later I feel absolutely horrible. Gas in my chest constantly and I feel almost feverish with no fever. I can't afford to miss work. I have to make an appointment with my GP to get a referral to a GI specialist. This is horrible. I'll keep y'all updated. Ughhh.

Thank you for such comprehensive information. I particularly like the fact about adding probiotics at the end. I learned that the hard way.

Antibiotics may increase bad bacteria.
Don’t take unnecessary antibiotics.
Increase fiber after taking antibiotics.
Veggies, salads, and some fruit.
Reduce animal fats… that means bacon.
Stop eating so many processed food, cookies, cake, chips … you know all the junk food that is less than nutritious.
And then maybe take a probiotic… but you need to do all these other things first.

I would add: be sure to drink water instead of sodas, reduce sugar intake, exercise or walk daily to keep everything moving.

And if you get c.diff after taking an antibiotic …. make an appointment with Dr Islam. I did… and he helped me get better. He really listens.

Now it’s up to each of us to take personal responsibility for staying healthy.

I was raised on antibiotics, doctors prescribed it left right and center everytime I had flu! I developed serious dysbiosis and now I suffer obesity. I am now healing, but I seriously hate doctors. They destroyed my life.

I really never recovered 😪 since 2011 after a heavy round of antibiotics. I found changing diet and eliminating processed foods

I watched this video to try and figure out what to feed my family for breakfast after they had food poisoning to try and restore some good bacteria. A lot of people recommend the brat diet. I am not sure if bread and rice is going to improve gut health after something like that or if the goal is to just hold down any food at all with the brat diet?

Why do so many people toss out the idea of animal fats without mentioning that you can get good animal fats from wild, caught salmon free range chicken and grass fed beef?

Also, I think it would be wise to eliminate some known inflammatory foods when your gut is just starting to heal, such as gluten, corn, soy, legumes, nightshade, etc.

I am facing Diarrhoea since 2 weeks after a course of Antibiotics. My WBC levels are normal. I took immodium, probiotic supplements, medicines to treat diarrhoea all after consultation. But it is still not resolving. I just go once a day in the morning, and it’s loose. I was completely fine before. Please advise.

So question. I was prescribed antibiotics after a wisdom tooth extraction and then a couple weeks later started getting pretty bad digestive issues. Assumed I had the stomach flu, but then symptoms only seemed to mitigate rather than going away completely. Met with my doctor and I asked if the antibiotics could have anything to do with it and she completely brushed those off. Now 12 days with digestive issues, symptoms come and go. I believe it has to do with the antibiotics. Is there a time table as far as how long it takes for the gut microbiome to regulate? I don't take probiotics but I do try and eat fruits and vegetables. Admittedly animal products are also a big part of my diet.

this is confusing... many nutritionists these days are saying animal fat is good. i.e. they r promoting beef tallow... and ghee, and avoid plant based oils for cooking e.g sunflower canola ...they say all these plant based oils produces inflammation... but here this guy is saying animal fat is not Good.... confusing.... who do we trust n follow
