How can you stop prediabetes from developing into diabetes? Let’s talk about it.

There is something that occurs before prediabetes called insulin resistance. This is a condition where your body is resisting high levels of insulin. High insulin levels are created from consuming a high-carb diet.

Insulin resistance will keep your blood sugar levels appearing normal until you develop prediabetes. However, you’ll still experience symptoms of insulin resistance.

Eventually, though, the beta cells that make insulin will not work as well, and you’ll develop prediabetes. If no changes are made, prediabetes can become diabetes very quickly. At this point, you have insulin resistance and high blood glucose (diabetes).

Symptoms of diabetes:
• Frequent urination
• Brain fog
• Feeling tired after eating
• Frequent eating
• Cravings for carbs
• Tingling sensation in the hands or feet
• Vision problems
• Kidney problems
• Fatty liver
• Belly fat

The typical treatment for diabetes is medication. However, the dietary consumption of sugar and carbs is often overlooked.

The best ways to prevent diabetes naturally:
1. Replace the carbs in your diet with fat and protein
2. Do intermittent fasting
3. Consume low-starch vegetables
4. Get plenty of trace minerals, B vitamins, vitamin C, and vitamin D
5. Exercise

I flash back to a time, in the mid-90's when I had read about insulin resistance and pre-diabetes. The article said that a person needs to not only cut back or eliminate refined carbs, but ALL carbs. It also talked about carb addiction, which I identified with whole-heartedly. I tried having a discussion with my doctor about it and asked for some dietary guidance. I remember her staring at me in total horror and then proceeding to scream at me about how I wasn't an MD, the article(s) I read were quackery. She said, "a calorie is a calorie is a calorie" regardless what it's from and there was NO difference at all between proteins, carbs, and fats. She shoved a Weight Watchers brochure at me and slammed the door as she left the exam room. I wish I could remember her name (I changed doctors after that, I refuse to be yelled/screamed at by a doctor) because I've love her to see how wrong she has been proven by MULTIPLE authorities. In 2017, I went on the KETO diet, and eventually used OMAD for maintenance. I told the doctor I had then what I was doing and she said it was all harmful to me and to stop. I didn't. My health and weight were out of control. Yet, a year later she recommended a low-carb diet in spite of me having already lost 65 pounds (a third of my body weight). It's just really hard for me to trust doctors who would rather have me take medications than change my diet.

One of the biggest issues with the modern health services are they focus on treating the symptoms rather than the cause. Fix the cause and the symptoms will disappear too.

This happened to me. Everything seemed normal for years, then BAM! Had a tragic, significant loss in my life and my TSH numbers went sky high, pre-diabetic, fatty liver. I now practice IM, Keto, watch Dr. Berg videos, and other similar practices and the numbers have improved greatly. Dr. Berg speaks the truth!

A very concerning blood test earlier this year indicated possible pre-diabetes. That scared me enough to become committed to doing something before it got worse. I've been keto for six weeks, I've lost 20 pounds and I feel great. I still have a ways to go but I love this way of life and I never want to go back to where I was.

My family is a little broke so we mostly ALWAYS have noodles. So, if I can't find anything to eat I'm probably eating noodles... BUT, I've stopped snacking, stopped eating cereal, I only eat two meals a day on a 16:8 fast and workout almost everyday. I started working out after high school (I'm 21, graduated when 17) and the back of my neck is getting clearer! I'm working on the weight loss now! Thanks Dr Berg for the info

Thank you, Dr. Eric. This video is the most comprehensive one about blood sugar. Yes, I reduced my A1c from 6.2 to 5.3 by changing my diet to a ketogenic way. I feel sorry for people that want to go to medication rather than change their diet.😊

I did it! Literally 1 point away from diabetes, went keto. 50lbs fell off in 6 mos. That was 1.5 yrs ago. Today I am more fit than when I was 25! Doc says “whatever you are doing, keep doing it.”! My blood work is great. I work out and feel amazing. 😊

I don't need to lose weight. I do need to change my diet! I was a long distance runner and since having two large babies, my body changed. I am now pre-diabetic. This my first month eating less carbs ...sugar(soda, chocolate bars...) . I am exercising again but I don't want it to be too intense because I am a healthy almost skinny weight-127lbs. My metabolism has recovered and I'm back to burning fat quick. Prayers for all the prediabetics and diabetics-natural healing.

My fasting blood glucose level was about 100 but I got a test for insulin and it was 15.1. Not good. I went keto for a while and then did a 26 day fast. I then continued with keto, a 16-8 intermittent fast and a two-day per week fast. After 5 months my insulin level was 4.2. I did a dance! My fasting blood glucose level is now in the seventies.

This man speaks truth. My AIC was 5.8 in February. I simply cut back on my carb intake and was intermittent fasting everyday and it went down to 5.4 by August and I also lost 20lbs

It’s literally free to do this lol why would you not?

Sound advice from Berg. I use all of these things, but the 2 most effective things that worked for me is intermittant fasting and reducing my sugar and starches. My intake of rice, sweets, potatos, and breads were killing me.
