STOP doing this CHEST EXERCISE!

If you are doing chest flys like this, you need to stop immediately. Not only does this not align the resistance at all with your upper chest fibers, making this more of a front delt exercise rather than a chest exercise, but it also looks like you’re one of plankton’s weak ass slaves who carelessly claimed a free chum bucket bucket helmet with the purchase of one or more krabby patties. So to improve this, raise the cables up and take a staggered stance aligning your forearms with the cables, then press the weight forward and up in the same direction of your upper chest fibers, so that your arm path, the resistance and fiber orientation are all in alignment. Doing this will not only make you look like that badass monkey raising up baby simba in the lion king, but it will also allow you to lengthen and shorten your upper chest to its greatest degree making this a much more effective exercise.

Do this, do that, don’t do this, don’t do that. I get the bro science but I think the most important thing is that you listen to your body.

Does your targeted muscle area feel worked? Good. Keep going. Form is of course important but there’s a lot of ways to hit the specified area.

That’s more of a press than a fly, instead of bringing your arms backwards quite close to your body, have your elbows further out and have a obtuse bend in your arm, and then bring your arms forward, this allows there to be a much better ROM and targets your chest a lot better

I get what you’re saying but just different movements. Comparing a fly and a press. I think the first exercise is improved by pushing your chest out and full retracting your shoulders. Also works better on certain cables better. I’d also recommend doing an incline fly instead

Yooo i did this exercise and it is so effective. I felt the tensions on my upper chests rather than the low flys. Good advice dude :)
