My mother's favorite thing to say when I was crying or upset "you're too sensitive". I spent YEARS growing up thinking I was a sensitive touchy piece of glass who couldn't control her own emotions when someone had upset me. But I realized I wasnt. I realized she was the one who had an issue.

I started seeing a therapist and learned about setting up
boundaries. Realised I never had any... From my diaries being read as a teen to my phone calls being listened to as a pre-teen.

"There's a new side of you I'm seeing and I don't like it" is the statement that confirmed everything for me.
