Ian you probably won’t see this but it’s possible the test you were given wasn’t the right test. I failed my first ADHD test because they administered one for children. When I went back and said, no no please give me the test meant for ADULTS I “passed” with flying colors.

ADHD symptoms present differently in children and adults, so the diagnostic material and criteria used HAS to consider the age of the patient for accurate results.

anthony’s perception of mental illness when he was younger makes sense when you remember he grew up with a mom that had agoraphobia. he saw mental illness being a debilitating disability that affected his life everyday. no wonder he thought that’s all it was

Just to add to Anthony’s and others understanding of disability: disability is also something that may be for life but may be something you move in and out of throughout life. Especially is you look at the social definition of disability. I’m actually writing my master thesis about invisible disabilities so if anyone is interested or has other questions let me know (:
