Its hard to feel normal in a world that labels any mental illness as “crazy”

Psilocybin saved my life. I was addicted to heroin for 15 years and after Psilocybin treatment I will be 3 years clean in September. I have zero cravings. This is something that truly needs to be more broadly used in addiction treatment.

I suffered the borderline disorder for over 23 years, with so much anxiety not until I came across psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment actually saved my life honestly. 6 years totally clean.
Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms

"Social anxiety disorder. S.A.D."

Me, realising it also spells sad: *Hold up-*

I was diagnosed with ASD not too long ago, and something about people calling it a "mental illness" makes me feel uneasy. I'm not "ill" because I simply have a genetic disorder that makes me interact with the world a little bit different than most. I don't need curing. I'm not suffering. Sure, my depression and anxiety make me mentally ill, but not autism. I've literally had people tell me they "hope a cure comes out soon". I DONT NEED IT! I am perfectly fine and I feel as though I would be a completely different person if I didn't have autism. Stop classifying autistic people as incapable or useless.

(I'm not mad at psych2go at all. It's just something that kind of annoys me about society today and I want more people to know about it.)

Has anyone else felt lonely, but would rather be alone, but still be so lonely it hurts?

i am autistic and i haven't met anyone who understands it, not even my closest friends get it. it makes everything harder, and i mean everything: eating, getting ready, showers, clothes, shopping, class, skincare, sleep, dating, friends, socialising, periods, body positivity, communicating with anyone at all. like sometimes i cant even explain how i feel, its just a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes, people shout and argue but i cant speak, I'm frozen with fear. often i wish i wasn't autistic, that i had a different quirk, like a rare eye colour or a cool skill. it does has positives, but most of the time their weighed out.
so please, if you know someone who could be autistic or is, do not make their life any harder, their living life the hardest already.

"oh i have social anxiety im so shy uwu"
bc as someone with diagnosed social anxiety its so much more than that and so frustrating to hear that.

I am on the autism spectrum and it often makes me feel like an outcast because I’m different than others at school. Having anxiety, depression, and OCD and other mental disorders can really be stressful to experience, as I have experienced some of them before and still show symptoms. This video could be really helpful for some people and I appreciate it!

I am Autistic and I have to clarify this: Autism is a neurological condition, not a mental one. Our brains are wired differently. It can be made visual in an MRT scan.

*When you realize you’ve had severe anxiety your whole life-*

But-
Honestly I wish they taught us this in school. I feel like it could help us understand others more and helps other more in ways we didn’t know we could before.

My sister wanted to be a psychologist, and my mother always thought people without a healthy mind is those who acts like a feral and crazy. She also think the job is useless and the paying is not much for my sister to survive. We live in southeast asia and the mental health situation here is horrible, country people even jail a person who seems to "not acting normal", chain their feet and jailed in a very small cage from wood.
