I’ve never had harina, but I’ve had lots of frijoles y huevo frito from my mom. XD My maternal grandmother would make sopa de fideos... I used to hate it... but she’s been gone for so long, that I miss so much, that I would gladly eat her sopa de fideos everyday if I could have her back..

I'm an interpreter. I lived in Mexico for 8 years and my husband is Mexican; therefore, this is the dialect I am used to hearing and speaking. I love your videos (apart from them being hilarious) because I get to learn new Cuban phrases, words, words that are used in different ways, and cultural elements such as food and beliefs. As an interpreter this really comes in handy due to my limited familiarity of Cuban and Caribbean culture. But I also see a lot of similarities between Cubans and Mexicans, like not walking on the floor descalzo and using itty, bitty bits of soap until it literally disappears - I feel ya Laritza!
