Reasons why Babies Refuse to Eat
Показать описание
Every baby eventually transitions to solid food, but it can be a difficult process as they may experience moments of refusal to eat. This is also visible in growing babies and toddlers. So….
➡️Shall I give him cow’s milk or any juice?
No, it is not advised to give cow's milk or juice to babies until they are 1 year old, as breast milk and solid food are the only required nutrients at this stage.
Post a year we can introduce cow’s milk as a snack and not as a quick alternative to rejection of solid foods. This is because milk or juices can fill up their small stomach and they may become nutrient deficient without taking solids.
➡️Shall I force feed him?
No, this kind of parental mistake can lead to long-term issues in babies. If they are treated disrespectfully through food they will hate the food and you too.
➡️Shall I repeat Ragi daily?
No, avoid repeating babies' favorite foods daily to avoid potential nutrition-related issues such as malnourishment, digestive issues and low immunity
➡️Shall I add sugar to his food?
No, do not add anything thinking the baby is refusing to eat because of the taste, specially sugar/ jaggery. Instead add different spices, as the baby should adapt to a different palate and this is also necessary for their digestive health.
Dear parents, hugs to you!! We understand this is a difficult time for any parent, as you watch your baby go through the difficult phase of not eating regularly. It can be heartbreaking to see them go without food for days or even weeks.
✔️If the baby is breastfeeding and taking it, amazing don’t worry.
✔️If the baby is eating something in a day it’s great again, don’t worry.
✔️Just check if the baby is given junk by somebody else, and stop immediately.
✔️And finally relax yourself, be patient it might just be a phase.
✔️Start using Grazing Plates around them according to their age.
Grazing Plate is nothing but a food platter. A plate kept around the area where the baby is crawling, walking or just playing. A simple example of a grazing plate can be one consisting of a variety of soft dishes such as soft pan cake, dosa, soft chapati, idly and soft fruits which babies can eat during their play times and eat as and when they move around.
Let me know if you want more ideas or a separate video about Grazing Plate. Thank you!
