Food for thought:
In theory a human head transplant is possible, the problem is how quickly it would need to be done, as the brain begins to die after about a minute without oxygen, a severed head can potentially survive for around 30 seconds up to a minute after being removed.
The problem hasn't really been the head surviving being removed but how quickly someone would have to work to get it attached to another body, though the head dying immediately upon being severed is fairly common.
In other words if we could develop a way to do the process in around 30 seconds it would become possible.

When it comes to lines that "Should not be crossed" one cannot claim it was crossed until the line is found in the first place. Animal testing/experimentation, remains a practice because there is still so much that we have yet to understand about the biology of life. If there was a better way to get results without things like this happening to animals like dogs for example, we would pretty much have been campaigning for this better alternative non stop by now. Ironically, because this researcher did what they did, we have a better understanding of transplantation so this kind of experimentation is no longer needed and as a result no more dogs or other animals in the future will ever have to go through this.

Problem is we still have yet to figure out head transplantation, along with if it even is worth it since we don't have conclusive research and so far no one wants to be put under the scalpel to find out.
