A Simple Way To Cook Beets (Microwave)

This video uses a microwave and a microwaveable plastic container to cook/heat with...out of convenience.

You don't have to use these methods. Choose your own way of cooking beets. Happy cooking!

Tutorial on how to cook beets in the microwave.

Step 1: Cut tops of beetroot off
Step 2: Rinse beets clean with water
Step 3: Place beetroot into a microwave safe container
Step 4: Pour a little bit of water inside container
Step 5: Place lid lightly on top or cover with saran plastic wrap
Step 6: Cook in microwave for approximately 5 minutes (depends on your microwave) (You can cook it longer if you want it softer)
Step 7: After removing from microwave let beets cool before peeling
Step 8: Cut and serve. Enjoy!

(Beets are cooked when you can easily insert a fork or the tip of a knife into the beet.)

I usually make sweet potatoes...same process, I just don't use a plastic container, 12 or 14 minutes...( little water, cover it very damp paper towels . I'm going to cook the beets in the microwave too! Thank you....

Don't cut them before you cook them because they will bleed!

is it alright to just put water in a casserole and put the beets in and let it boil for 5 minutes?
