A closer look at some hidden things you may have missed in The Boy (2016).

We've covered the goofy and demented world of Chucky from the Child's Play films and the cursed secrets behind the Annabelle trilogy, so it only makes sense that I would eventually get around to one of the scariest doll movies to grace cinemas, 2016's The Boy.

From the dark story point hidden within the background to the constant clues about the narrative's twist ending, The Boy is filled with small overlooked details and secrets waiting to be discovered. In this video I'll be going over everything you might have missed in the film, like the initials that come up again and again, the meaning behind the rules set by Brahms and the Heelshires, the truth behind the strange behaviour of the family and the hidden dialogue that you can only begin to decipher by turning up the volume.

We've got a lot to cover in this episode, so let's get in to the Things You Missed!

About Things You Missed
These videos point out some of the little details you may have missed in your favorite horror franchises, analyse their meaning and why they are noteworthy. Typically, I'll cover Things You Missed in horror movies, and Things You Missed in horror film trailers.

About Brahms: The Boy 2
Unaware of the terrifying history of Heelshire Mansion, a young family moves into a guest house on the estate where their young son soon makes an unsettling new friend, an eerily life-like doll he calls Brahms. Katie Holmes stars in STXfilms and Lakeshore Entertainment’s, BRAHMS: THE BOY II, alongside Christopher Convery (“Gotham”), Owain Yeoman (The Belko Experience) and Ralph Ineson (The Witch). William Brent Bell returns to direct BRAHMS: THE BOY II. The producers are Lakeshore’s Tom Rosenberg, Eric Reid, Gary Lucchesi, and Richard Wright in addition to Matt Berenson, Jim Wedaa and Roy Lee.

Another clue is when the mother explicitly told Greta to read in a loud clear voice. As for the loud music, I think it's more for Brahm's enjoyment as opposed to allowing him to move around the house. The mother also made a point about Greta being younger and prettier than the other nannies. Considering how Brahms is a grown-ass man, of course he would want to have a young beautiful woman to keep him company.

I’ve watched this movie 4 times and I’ve NEVER noticed the voice when the parents ask for a moment alone with Brahms

I'm not sure how many people know this, but, apparently Brahms' was initially unmasked but results from the test audience reveled they thought he was too "sexy" to be scary. So they added his mask in a post-CGI effect. That's why his mask looks... like that. Lol.

the hiding in the walls, the mirror, the voice changing he does(childlike voice), the people he killed, the scared/burned skin behind the mask, choosing a young pretty woman, the fact that he can hear everything and know everything about the house, his secret house(inside the walls), him liking classical music....hmm, he might as well be the PHANTOM OF THE

*Spoiler*

The Boy II doesn’t have Brahms in it really... it’s more focused on the doll which kinda feels like they missed the mark that made the first one good/interesting.... :/

Since I only watched it once, I never realized that the rules helped Brahms do things in the house like keeping the rats away or taking the food out. I found them weird and wondered why those ruled were made an now I feel dumb because it’s rlly simple but it fascinates me for some reason 😂

What I want to know is why they kept Brahms locked up all those years. You’d think that after a year tops, the police investigation would’ve been well over and Brahms could’ve come out and lived a fairly normal, albeit sheltered life.

Bramns reminds me a lot of Eric from Phantom of the Opera. Extremely intelligent, sneaky, able to disguise his voice and many other things... and of course, the mask covering burned skin.

WAIT wAIT- towards the end when Greta defeats Brahms, we see part of his face as the mask breaks- and I noticed that his skin looked burnt and damaged- Could this mean that he actually was in the housefire 20 years earlier??

The loud music helping him be able to move more freely actually makes a lot of sense. I just figured maybe he couldn't hear it very well in the walls. :'D

I have a suspicion that there is gonna be a movie called “The Girl” in the future

Question, if Brahms is living in the walls, how is he able to move so stealthily when there's no music playing? Also, what did Brahms look like under the mask?
