The latest movie from our favourite Canadian leading man, star of Deadpool, The Proposal, Deadpool 2, Pokemon: Detective Pikachu, Buried, Van Wilder, 7 Underground, The Hitman’s Bodyguard, The Hitman’s Bodyguard 2, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Blade Trinity, Green Lantern, R.I.P.D., The Voices, The Croods, The Change-Up, Paper Man, Smokin’ Aces and Just Friends just hit theaters and it pokes fun at games like Grand Theft Auto: Online, GTA: IV, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Red Dead Redemption 2, Ninja Gaiden, Fortnite, Ghost of Tsushima, Mega Man, Pac Man, Half-Life 2, Portal and more. It is a great film co-starring Taika Watiti from What We Do In The Shadows, Jojo Rabbit, Thor Ragnarok, and The Suicide Squad, Jodie Comer from Killing Eve, The Last Duel and Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker, Lil Rel from Get Out, Tag, Bird Box, Fatherhood, Judas and the Black Messiah, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Good Boys, Uncle Drew and Bad Trip. It also features cameos from the likes of Magic Mike’s Channing Tatum, Jungle Cruise’s Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Captain America himself, Chris Evans famous for Knives Out, The Avengers, Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, and Fantastic Four. Those cameos are just the tip of the iceberg as the film rolls along with more funny references, hilarious marketing campaigns, and callbacks to other films.

The first time that I watched this movie I was shocked to see that Hugh Jackman and Dwayne Johnson were listed in the credits. The second time I watched it I was able to pick up on which characters they were.

The 26th thing you missed it's the "sunglasses people": shades that let you see "the real thing" is 100% John Carpenter's "They Live"

One reference that I think you missed was when Keys and his mate go after Guy as the rabbit, at one quick point as the first approach Guy, rabbit says “GET OVER HERE”… Scorpion Mortal Kombat franchise. 👍 10/10 for me.

It was like a movie within a movie. The video game part of the movie was incredibly funny but the real world part (with Keys and Millie) was lacking. Overall, I loved the movie. First time I’ve genuinely laughed at a movie in forever.

I just watched it, and i'm not afraid to say..
One of the best movies i've seen in a long time.
By "best" I mean, i've seen some great movies over the years..
but this one was (yeah) surprisingly awesome.
Wasn't sure what to think before watching, helped a lot.
Everything about it: story, cgi, making good sense.. outta nonsense 😂.
This is 9 outta 10 from me.. It was like a movie I didn't know I needed to see.
I think Covid (ironically) may have actually helped make this movie even better. 🙌

Milly: We have the first Artificial Inteligence in a form of an NPC.
Waititi: Rebooot the SeRver!

was stoked to see the gravity gun and portal gun both be used.

If anyone is wondering why the gravity gun (from Half-Life 2) and the Portal gun (from Portal) look different and smaller when Guy uses them against Dude it's because they couldn't get the rights to use them in the movie, I still like that they put those references to some of the biggest and most famous games in the movie.
