I am from Japan and living in US last 35 years. And yes, I have been eating raw egg from the nearby supermarket the cheapest kind (not fancy expensive organic ones). I eat at least a couple every single week, So my estimate is hmmmm like three thousands raw egg I have eaten in US. And I have never ever got sick from it.

i am 87 years old, i have eaten eggs raw since child birth. i bring water to boil and dunk the eggs for a few seconds to kill bacteria on the eggshell. then i mix it with milk and honey for a delicious drink. sometimes add avocado.

Spaghetti carbonara kind of uses raw egg. You mix in cheese to make the gravy then put it on the pasta using either pan heat or incredibly low flame. Most cases of salmonella come from raw meat not raw eggs
