I am Catholic and have never experienced what you are talking about. Broken off faiths have to demonize their competition in order to draw people into their congregation.

According to this preacher, the book of Hebrews teaches a false Christ because it clearly teaches that Jesus upon his ascension makes priestly intercession in heaven. But according to this preacher’s theology, that means that the heavenly Christ, the heavenly high priest, is competing with the sufficiency of his own death on the cross.
