The fact that I got all three right makes me feel a lot more confident when giving my opinion on form when asked for help. Definitely should do more videos like this Sean 👏🏽💪🏽

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

3 basic biceps curl mistakes to avoid:⁣

1) The first is allowing the elbows to flare out to the sides to where the resistance is no longer properly aligned with the biceps.⁣

This usually happens when people try to lift too heavy. I actually see it most often on dumbbell curls.⁣

2) The second is letting the shoulders drift excessively forward to where the wrists and elbows are stacked on top of eachother at the end of the rep.⁣

This turns the movement into a sort of front raise/biceps curl hybrid and shifts more load onto the front delts.⁣

I don't think a small bit of forward elbow drift is a big deal in the overall picture as long as your biceps are still going to failure, but just make sure it's only slight and that you're still loading elbow flexion at the end of each rep. ⁣

3) The third is not controlling the negative and just letting the weight fall down using gravity.⁣

You don't need to lift super slow by any means, but for the sake of preserving your overall technique and reducing joint strain, just ensure that you're lowering the weight under deliberate control.⁣

It's a GREAT type of shorts. Maybe better than explainations... Please make more of this kind. Specially for common exercises and common mistakes. Thank you so much Sean

I'd say that not fully extending the elbow at the bottom is worse than slight shoulder flexion at the top

Actually proud of myself for nailing every one of those lol. Wasn’t super exaggerated in the video which kind of helps to show what a lot of people may do without even realizing it.

You make phenomenal content, and while I'm always fighting the fight... when I'm at my best, I'm literally watching your shorts before my set. Thank you Sean for what you do, it means a lot to me to see someone do it well, so that I know it can be done.

You already know their gonna come at you in the comments on almost every video but I don't give a sh** because you've been real finally someone that's gonna tell the truth all these fitness influencers think they put on a ton of muscle they can do the same for anyone but it doesn't work that way everybody's goals are different and everybody responds differently to different exercises... that's why I follow you

A 4th one maybe - letting the weight rest on your body completely removing tension.

Got all 3, but a bonus one (which he could be doing correctly) but in the concentric phase you want to go curl in a somewhat quick and forceful manner while still maintaining control. Not momentum, but forceful and controlled speed to get the most growth.
