I think people wouldn't hate your torture tests so much if you were a lot more scientific about them, instead of just subjecting them to random abuse.

I completely agree with this review, because, you know, putting my laptop in the oven is a usual thing.

I also expected the best tablet in the world, in terms of value for money and affordability, to be the most durable tablet in the world.

10/10 for this review!

Does everyone remember when Cooley used to do this and we all got mad when Bell replaced him? He's now one of the best in the business, great job Bell

Im surprised the Nexus 4 wasn't on this list. That phone was advertised as having Gorilla Glass, but the back was really just tempered glass. Most people I've met who have that phone has broken the back or replaced it, since replacing it isn't that hard or expensive.

Of course CNET put the surface on here. I remember watching that bullshit torture test

That galaxy S4 test was completely not fair. Any gadget will break if you chuck it down a 30 ft. rock wall and run over it with a dirt bike.

my cheapo lg flip phone went in with me into a frozen lake, survived countless throws against walls, dropped it out of a moving car more times than i can remember, in the time it took to find it it probably got run over more than once as well

Yep, I have 2 tabs and 2 phones.
Phones: Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy Trend +
Tabs: Google Nexus 7 2012 and LG G Pad 8.0/LG-V480.
Of course.
BTW I'm not using the Nexus but I'm using the S4.

What happens with the smashed gadgets after the tests

With the exception of the indestructible Nokia cellphones of old, ANY phone would break if you threw it down a long, concrete set of steps like they did with the iPhone 4S. I've dropped mine more lately than I usually have (like 5 times this past month, which is almost as many times I've dropped since I've owned it), and it's shown absolutely ZERO signs of damage- and that's only with one of those Speck cases. Granted, most of the drops have been face up or on one of the edges.

What gadget was the one tested in the pool?

Legos would be sturdier than that PoS tablet, and it would probably run smoother if it had a lego processor.

Do you expect a motherboard and CPU withstand cooking temperatures, as they shouldn't even hit 90 degrees celsius. Unless a selling point of that laptop was a warmth insulating chassis, that test was stupid.

dropping your comp and spilling coffee on it makes sense for a durability test, but who's putting their laptop in the oven?
