You asked "why did Jesus speak in parables if Calvinism is true?" That is actually a fantastic point that i have not considered! Thank you.
My father believes in Calvinism so I'm trying my best to steer him away from it. I just ordered a book called "Chosen But Free" so I'll see if that has good points as well!
Thanks for the video ❤

The irony of the argument about extended alter calls is, if Calvinism is true, they were God's decree. Thank God you escaped the fog with your faith intact. Good video, thanks for sharing your experience. It matters a lot.

Enjoyed your testimony. I'm a Latter-day Saint we don't normally have theological debates like protestants. I've always understood the elect as those who are pre-ordained in the pre-mortal life. Those who chose to follow the savior and receive physical bodys on earth. Those who did not choose to follow the savior became fallen angels as Satan. God always gives us agency and choice that's critical. Everyone has the opportunity to whether they accept the Gospel or not.

I hate how Calvinists sequestered the term "Reformed" for themselves when technically most Protestants also saw themselves as Reformed. Lutherans saw and called both Calvinists and Arminians as Reformed not only Calvinists. Anabaptists/Baptists were part of the radical Reformation. And when I say Baptists I mean general Baptists or Evangelical Baptists and not "Reformed Baptists" which are calvinistic in soteriology, Reformed Baptists is such an oxymoron because Calvinists use to persecute and kill Anabaptists/Baptists at the beginning of the Protestant Reformation.

Thank God you left Calvanism. You wanted to know the truth, and God gave it to you. It's a blessing brother.

Mathew 25:24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
25 and I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo,  there thou hast that is thine. (Calvanism)
26 His lord answered and said unto him,  Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
27 thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, FAITH

The Holy Spirit produces faith. Not the will, or the flesh of a man.

I don’t have evidence that serpents can talk. Does anyone here? We can be skeptical in book #1 friends.

I would even argue that we are not born with a sin nature by the definition because God doesn't create natures of sin. We have a weakened will from Adam that allows us to fall to sin. The passions and desires are not evil only misdirected passions and desires through the misplaced will. That is the way the early Christians believed it if you read there writings. They didn't believe that evil was a nature. Total depravity is pretty crazy as you are basically blaming God for your problems. I talked with other guys that believed this stuff to try to help him from his struggles with porn but he had all this sin nature, faith alone in his mind so he was always waiting on God to do everything for him. He wouldn't put for any real effort to stop and expected it to get better, and didn't even realize he was blaming God.

If God does not absolutely control all things, then who does?
If God did not create evil, then who did?
Is God using Calvinism to separate the wheat from the chaff?
Is anti-Calvinism a new-age ideology meant to satisfy the modern-day Christian who wants to only hear about a God who is love and nothing else?

Just after watching a bit of this video I'd like to ask the man in the video is trying to say that he was a/saved man when he finally rejected Calvinism? Or did he reject Calvinism WHEN HE FINALLY TRULY GOT SAVED?

Glad to hear you left Calvinism. I never read anything concerning him in the Holy Writ. Good for you.

What really matters is if you're born again from above by Gods effectual grace as one of Gods chosen vessels of mercy or not. If you remain in your first birth under Adam, and have not been made an utterly new creature in Christs image, you'll die in your sins.

Hoping you are that new creature.

In Romans 3 Paul is also using hyperbole. Notice that Paul talks about how these people have poisonous asp under their lips their mouth is an open tomb, they are all swift to shed blood. I know many lost people who have never killed anyone. I don’t think Paul is saying that their mouth is a literal grave.

We often forget the reason Paul said what he said, but verses 9 tells us that Paul is establishing that Jews are no better than Gentiles.

You are on target. Good video.

The background is a bit awkward though.

Hi thanks for your video I may have watched one of your others a while back, Ive recently started attending a Baptist church mainly because they believe in the need for sanctification which I really respect but as the pastor said I seam to have more thorny issues than the average guy at the church they believe that God is in control of every thought word deed I do Im kind of an odd ball Im half in half out I listened to John Pipers 2 part series on the book of job and seamed right to me everything that happened to job came indirectly from God but I cant go all the way with that I look at god reasoning with Cain I cant say God is responsible infarct he's predestined my acts of sin, I raised these point and they say he has two wills I showed them in Zachariah 1 v15 the nations took the punishment beyond what he intended proving mans ability to choose, again they say two wills last week I shared in kings 21 king Ahab clearly a man not going to heaven able to repent we know it was genuine because god can not be tricked he sees our motives clearly but God said do you see how ahab has humbled himself that really rattled them and I was asked not to continue that conversation as the bible study would be starting soon on Sunday I was talking and I really apricate John Piper opening my eyes to the need to make Jesus my treasure but as I was explaining to them on Sunday If God is most glorified in me being most satisfied in him that has to be real choosing real seeing of Sin real desire of that sin and real love for Jesus more than the sin If not he is not as glorified as if he had wrote a computer program to do that they say Im trying to work the equation that cant be solved its mystery but I say you have to dismiss way more of the bible to believe that than Im not willing to do. The one I also cant dismiss is Rom 9 I cant deny he hardens whom he wills and chooses whom he wills so I accept that to hence my dilemma I cant find a camp where I fit what did you do with rom 9

"....God has CHOSEN this man as His instrument to bring light to the gentiles"
(acts 9)
[Paul was chosen, he had no choice, paul wasnt seeking salvation]

"Jacob have i loved, esau i have
"For He says to Moses;
I will have mercy on whom i have mercy
and i will have compassion on whom i have compassion.
So it does not depend on he who wills or he who runs,
But on God who has mercy"
(romans 9:15-16)
....
"So He has mercy on whom He desires,
and He hardens whom he desires" (romans 9:18)

"....No man has seen the father except the son.... and to whom the son CHOSES to reveal Him"
(matt 12:27)

If you dont see the fact God CHOSES, you are missing out.
This has nothing to do with calvinism, it is biblical doctrine you cant change.

Leaving Calvinism is good. Almost as good as leaving free will.
