when a big guy like this says "those 15 pound dumbbells will humble you, " it reminds me that using big weights is just for my ego. The small ones will get it done.

As someone who's limited to working out at home 99% of the time this video is a gamechanger. Best thing to happen in my back in all of 2024 already

33 yr old dad here. Overweight. I’m very very novice to lifting. Done a bunch of group exercise stuff over the years. Watching this channel has been super super helpful and educational, which is empowering. Hoping to get strapped and handsome for wifey again using stuff I’m learning here. Thanks a ton. Hopefully my clicks and views are topping up the Lamborghini fund ❤

Not only just an at home workout, but an easy way to plan a quick in-gym workout when all the machines are taken and free weights and benches are left. Thanks again for showing us what good technique looks like Nick!

This channel really is gold. I used to be a rigid calisthenics athlete who refused to train with weights and didn’t train legs at all because unfortunately there‘s a lot of bro science in the calisthenics community. Now that I train my legs and also included weights into my training, I progress much faster, training is a lot more fun and my physique also improved a lot. Thank you so much for opening my eyes about smart training 🙏

Amazing content as always. Would love this to be part of a dumbbell only series for those who only work out at home with DBs. I’m sure lots of others would also really benefit from that.

Thanks for all you do.

Floor dumbbell pullovers are an option if you don't have / don't want to buy a bench.

Also, tripod rows might be better than bent over rows, if you're just working out at home with dumbbells your progression is going to be focused on increasing reps and sets, only rarely increasing weight, and you can't really do that kind of working out with regular bent over rows, bc your spine and QLs are gonna get fatigued first. Tripod rows solve that issue, you can do them using a regular chair or whatever.

That way you can also get away with owning just one dumbbell instead of two, my suggestion is just to buy one adjustable plate-loaded dumbbell, a beginner can start with 5-10lbs and increase reps and sets a bunch, then increase the weight by 5-10lb, start the cycle of increasing reps and sets a bunch, then increase the weight against, and repeat, and you can do that several times, such a dumbbell will easily go up to 50lb, thats years of gains with just one dumbbell.

One DB that can cover your entire body - single leg deadlifts, lunges, floor pullovers, tripod rows, single arm DB chest press (you'll need a bed or couch for this one), single arm incline DB chest press (sit on the floor, lean back against a bed or couch, with a bit of incline) - all muscle groups worked with minimal expense on exercise equipment.

dumbbell pullover is one of my favorite exercises to do for athletes who do a lot of work with their arms above their head. I don't see it in programming a lot so this was fun to see it in here. Rationale was interesting. I always considered it a dynamic stretch and a warm up exercise for the lats as well as helping stabilize the shoulder joint... interesting to see it applied similarly here. Gotta love the artform of program design.

Thanks for the workout! Although I gotta be honest, I'm a 34 year old man with a family, and idk why but when you were talking about keeping good form and you said at 9:09 "If you fail no big deal" some shit triggered in me and I definitely had a mini cry. Thanks for giving us the tools to better ourselves and as a newcomer to the channel I'm loving all the info!
