Do you ever feel less than motivated, just wanting to take the 'easy' way out? Of course! We all do!

The problem isn't that we have these moments of laziness, it is how we respond that can be concerning.

You see, when we are feeling tired or overwhelmed, our bodies are designed to rely on our default behaviors. And, if those behaviors are negatively impacting our lives... this can become a BIG problem!

In today's video I give you some insight into a simple little concept that can help you overcome those lazy moments and create new, more healthy, defaults that can lead you to success and productivity!

Understanding the 20 second rule is simple, and implementing it can be LIFE CHANGING!

I liked your comments regarding making things a little less easy to do (batteries in the remote) in order to break up some lazy habits.

This is a really good one and it is so true! Sometimes you just need to think about things a little bit differently and then you can move forward!

Thank you for sharing this concept! Learning about Executive Functioning helped me to ditch the negative self talk (calling myself lazy, incompetent, etc.) and find strategies that help me improve in my areas of weakness (Task Initiation and Time Management). I'm excited to add the 20 second rule to my bag of tricks! I can already see how this will help me complete some dreaded cleaning tasks by gathering all the supplies in the room that I want to tackle.

The example about the guitar and the remote control is superb! Thank you very much

I kinda felt this way about fresh produce vs “ready to go” junk food. Or just fresh food vs nuking a micro dinner. Or just grabbing fast food or takeout. I def think my main motivation was easy access and it being quick for me. Nowadays tho, I’m getting pretty good at ”pre conveniencing” my homemade food and fresh produce for myself. Lol. I really do love that tho. I find that I enjoy it being my own homemade “ready to go” stuff even more tho and I feel more proud of myself rather than bad about myself. Lol.

for junk food, it is real. during quarantine, at first we can not go out at all. and so when no more junk food.. we started to eat all the dried fruit, baking more healthy stuff.. and so.. it made me realised it too :) thanks for reminding this :) as since, i started to buy back some bad food sometimes :)
