I love something I noticed that was not mentioned. Hanging children's artwork inside cabinets you use frequently so they can make you smile without cluttering up the fridge!

Girl I’m totally digging how real you are in your videos instead of being like all the many Barbie doll wannabes with their spaces that were previously styled to make them look like they are extremely organized and clean! WHATEVER 🙄

Don’t know if this helps anyone. I changed my spices to a drawer and labelled the lids. I have them in alphabetical order from front to back in small baskets. For me it has made such a difference

With all the talk of declutter and minimalize, we might overlook the advantages of duplicate items. My point is that sometimes adding is more of an improvement than subtracting. If you live with a stairway inside your home, you might prefer two vacuum cleaners, one on each floor. The same goes for cleaning products and basic tools like a hammer and screwdrivers. I have a delightful front porch where I love to be in Summer. I have a painted wood cabinet out there as part of the decor. It is a handy place for paper towels, basic tools, dog brushes, extra reading glasses, scissors, trash bin, etc. That way I need not run back inside the house for incidentals. I also bought extra garden hose and fittings to supply water from the side of my house to my porch. That gives me convenient access to water my flower pots, wash the deck, cool myself down, rinse off the doggies, etc.

Dishwasher out of service since before Christmas..one of those things my husband will "get to"eventually....we wash our dishes almost immediately and we love it.

I have a small shoe rack that sits right behind the door. Come in, slip out of outside shoes, and put on inside shoes/slippers. Helps keep the house cleaner.

Clutter is a habit. All my life I was terrible about leaving dishes in the sink. (The funny thing is that I don’t hate doing the dishes, it was pure laziness.) Within the last six months, I made a conscious decision not leave dishes in the sink. At first it was tempting to just leave that dish, but stopped myself. I don’t leave the kitchen until the dishes are done and put away, and it feels great. Whatever the habit is, make a conscious decision to change. You’ll surprise yourself at how successful you will be.

Another thing that occurred to me about your wire shoe basket is that it is so open the air can circulate. Helps keep shoes from getting smelly.

Tossing the empty shampoo bottle down the stairs is the right thing to do 😆, I give things a ride close to the main/exit door ! So is on the way when O go out it also gets out !

Best tip I ever heard about paper clutter was to only handle it once. Put it where it goes, toss it or pay/respond .

I gave my husband and sons-in-law battery storage cases for Christmas. They all loved them. No more shoebox’s, drawers, or baskets to search through. They come in different sizes. I gave a 60 battery size, and the sponge slots are for different size batteries. Also came with a battery tester. I found these on Amazon. Pretty reasonable cost and sometimes on sale.

Thank you for the information in this video! I just discovered your channel. Just a reminder to be cautious about how you store batteries, if the terminals touch they can spark and start a fire.

If you write what's in the herb/spice jar on top, it's easier to find, without lifting each jar

My mail is delivered to a mailbox on the front of the house. Just inside the front door I placed my old baby wardrobe from the 50’s. I took out the hanging rod and added adjustable shelf brackets with just a single shelf to that area. I also added a grommet in the floor of it so I could put a smaller shredder under the shelf and run the cord out to the wall outlet. I have a file box with monthly hanging files in that area as well. The two lower drawers hold paper recycling that doesn’t need to be shredded (I used to have to sort it between glossy and other paper, but no longer). The two upper drawers hold office supplies, greeting cards and stationery. I have a shallow bin on top for the current issue of favorite mail order catalogs I still get and a small basket with postage stamps and return address labels. A page-a-day tear off calendar is also on top. When mail comes in I immediately shred the junk mail with my name and address. For bills paid by check I paperclip the return envelope and bill only to the date I intend to pay it on the tear off daily calendar. Inserts go in recycling if they don’t have any personal info. When I pay bills the stamps and address labels are right there and I file the paid bill in the monthly folder. I’ve been using this system for about two years and it has worked like a charm for me.

Empty shampoo bottle out of shower and later down the stairs, just like you. Glad I’m not the only one. 😃 Great ideas and advice in this and the lazy cleaning video. Glad I found your channel.

Donating our coffee table was a game changer for keeping the family room uncluttered.
I also got rid of the ottoman storage because it was out of sight, out of mind. When I finally looked at what I had placed inside a year later, I realized I really didn’t want to keep any of it.

Hi, I love a couple of tips I never thought about. My favorite is while I'm doing something, I go to an area and decluter one thing and go back. I love this idea because it won't be daunting to design a te a day, just to declutter. Brilliant!!! There are others I also did not think about, but I will save this video to look at it as many times as I need to implement the ones relevant to me. Thank you.

I do almost all of these tips.
I have a large cooking pan on my
counter that I put things that have been opened like chips etc So that will use them up instead of them being stuck in a cabinet

Ooh, about the batteries, you can use those little plastic inserts inside packets of biscuits (cookies) to hold them. Free and upcycling, and we can't afford anything to contain stuff. Sucks being poor but this way it helps the recycling thing too.
