I am an addict. A person who is easily addicted. I've given up meat, booze, weed, other... less savoury things, but I still haven't given up coffee. I don't feel like it's good or bad for my health, but it does have a hold on me, so it's 'bad' because I don't want to be addicted to anything and yet I keep trying to escape and failing.

Mad props for Dr M. however, the worst issue with coffee is it triggers our adrenals and fight or flight; this leads to inflammation throughout the body. Check out Medical Medium’s podcast on coffee. You’ll learn so much.

I just enjoy the taste of coffee; mostly have just one cup. Also not every day. It doesn't keep me awake, may or may not send me to the potty. I drank much more of it when I was working. I'm retired now, so not every day.

Which reminds me: I think I'll one right now!!☺☺☺

At 8 yrs old my mother insisted my brother and I drink 2 cups of coffee before starting on our paper route, which had to be delivered by 6 AM . I have tried to quit maybe 6 times because people told me it was bad . At 68 years young I never felt it was hurting me, however poor quality coffee does give me some digestive issues. I really enjoy good quality coffee in the morning, (1-2 cups) and sometimes will skip a couple days to experience the pause in consumption! I think more studies on coffee and the Pancreas are needed .

I make cold brewed decaf with high alkaline water. Do acid problems anymore.

I drink a pot of coffee every morning and I just don't have any of these issues. If I start to get shaky because I also haven't eaten anything I eat something. That's it. Usually a small bowl of oatmeal to which I add flaxseed, chia seeds, a little maple syrup, a little almond milk, and sometimes frozen blueberries I don't even bother to thaw. I've been drinking coffee since the early-1980s. That's all it does to me. Meanwhile I get an hour or two to relax, contemplate, listen to music, do the work I want to do for myself on the computer -- me time. As far as "bad" habits go, I could be doing a lot worse.

Dr McDougall what about a coffee brewed in a moka pot where the coffee is pushed by the build up of pressure by boiling water in a lower chamber and pushed up very fast? That’s what I drink😋😉

Been drinking coffee since I was 7 years old. Am 75 now and I still love my Java. Coffee actually helps my digestion, as I have low stomach acid. It also helps me to be regular. And it tastes awesome! What's not to like.

It also inhibits iron absorption so best not have it near meals especially if you're anaemic.

I started drinking "Cevada" which is finely ground roasted barley powder made by Nestle. Just add a 1/2 teaspoon to boiling water in a regiular size cup. I don't know if it is a healthy alternative to coffee, makes sense though.
