Understanding how things are connected saves a lot of time in assembling or the reverse. Thanks!

I was doing the same job you were doing, but on a 17' Explorer last weekend and struggled mightily with just getting the valve covers off. I found this video and they came right off. I found an Exacto knife worked perfectly. This is a great tip. I'm sure I would have broken at least one of them if I had continued prying like I had. I hope your water pump and timing chain went well. What a nerve-racking job reinstalling that timing chain cover.

Thanks!!!! saved me from a big headache! I struggled and watched one video where a guy used a 3' pry bar, and I knew that I wasn't taking the route. Valve covers came off with ease after cutting the seals.

After breaking my head, the cover came off quite easily after doing it this way! Only broke my head for a couple hours before finding this.
BUT - how’d you take off the spark plug seals afterwards? Those things are on there like if they’re part of the tubes!

TRY SPRAYING SEALS WITH SOME LIQUID WRENCH AND THEN USING A PLASTICE TIRE SOCKET COVER JUST LARGER THAN THE SPARK PLUGM TUBES, USE A DEAD BLOW HAMMER AND TAP THE SEAL DOWN JUST A SMIDGE TO BREAK THE BOND. COMES RIGHT OFF. NO SEAL DAMAGE.

I am trying to remove a valve cover on a 2013 Ford F150 Ecoboost 3.5L. Have removed all bolts except the two at the back and there is a wiring harness attached to the bolts. How do I remove or get the wiring harness moved or out of the way so I can get to those two bolts. Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.
