I literally said "WOW" in the middle of this. Your insights blow my mind. I am my own "manager, " and a poor one. I'm going to try trusting and respecting myself to get things done. Thank you.

OMG this is exactly what’s going on at my workplace right now. Management has lost the respect of a lot of staff, performance is low, morale is low, and our managers have resorted to writing these really long berating emails to staff outlining their mistakes. Like exactly what you’re talking about here. Thanks for this, it was very validating.

Dr scott, thanks for this, but could you please also make a video on how to get back your self respect after anxiety recovery, I'm really very underconfident to go anywhere, I think in all these years i forgot how to interact with people though that's not the case really, and I find myself noticing very small mistakes of me which the other person doesn't even care about .could you please help, sending love and respect ❤

I've been thinking a lot about two things recently: 1) self-respect, and 2) dignity.

A person who has self respect has good moral values and they respect other people's boundaries and privacies.

Respect begets respect

Give this man a goddamn award. Scott, you pulled me out of a hole and now I'm in mindful "maintenance mode"- something I've either been too complacent (or possibly even too arrogant) to stick with. Change is profound. I feel like I've tapped back into my true identity again.

This is really good stuff. I’ve left many jobs, and now I can only work for myself, because managers have been so critical and harsh and mean and insulting and micromanaging to me that I couldn’t take it anymore, so I started my own business and I work for myself, and I don’t have to deal with any of that, but now we have it.

This is so true from my experience of working for toxic bosses. They didn't have the respect of employees and vice versa. You are the manager of yourself/ your life and I'm working on how to actually be a good manager of myself.

One of my jobs a long time ago required working with the public which were 75% total condescending, irritating, straight up a$$holes. After that job ended after 3 years and I got divorced, my hair started growing out, I had more energy, and I lost weight without trying. Sometimes God removes toxic buttholes from your life and it improves beyond your wildest dreams! Don't settle for security at the price of your health and sanity. Respect yourself.
