If the fins are really flat and you cannot get the comb in you can straighten them with a pocket knife or a small screwdriver first. If they are that bad be very careful the comb will rip the fins if you are heavy handed.

I’m not even interested in fixing my ac but find this guy really entertaining! What a top channel!

Just give in a little poke for the Moses Stick... That should do the Trick!!

Be very careful you don’t accidentally cut your hands or fingers on the fins as they are knife sharp. I always throw on a pair of construction type leather gloves before raking/combing coils. It’s VERY easy to accidentally slip.
The use of WD40 or even soapy water to lubricate the fins before raking/combing helps immensely.

I ordered that comb kit this past Friday 👍
My MR2-S started to feel muggy when idling, I noticed half of the condenser has damaged fins.

That was a funny line you had there, also at the beginning at least you didn't edit it out let's us know we are all human. And that tool is one I need to get plus that tip about WD-40 is awesome. 😁

That's great information, thanks Mike. I thought that those fins were pretty delicate and might break if I try to straighten them out. Thanks for the tip

Certainly any fin and tube heat exchanger could benefit from that treatment. Radiator, oil cooler, air conditioning, and I'm sure there are more. If I recall you previously also reviewed cleaning products to keep ones heat exchangers working top notch.
