This video tells the story of Ava, a young, professional women who is struggling to find herself in the chaos of the modern world. In the midst of a mental breakdown, she is greeted by two reflections in the mirror. One reflection tells her the cold harsh truth about what she should be doing to get her life together. The 2nd reflection comforts her and tells her that nothing is her fault. Ava decides to repeatedly listen to the 2nd reflection, which sends her down a path of resentment. In the end she has no one to blame but herself.

If it smells like crap, walk away. If everywhere smells like crap, check your shoe.

I love the irony of “why should I change” while demanding everyone else change 🤷🏼‍♀️

If you can play the victim, you can justify aggression.

My parents taught me that no one owes you anything. Only we are responsible for our decisions and actions, and we must face the consequences of those choices/actions, good or bad.

"Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth, but you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that!”

A true friend tells you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear.

When I was younger, I saw myself as a victim, even though I have relatively comfortable life. Then I found myself at my lowest and then stood up and gained confidence. My life was better then and now.

This video is astonishingly accurate in so many ways. It perfectly explains the rise of the 'full-time activist'. It shows why there's a 'mental health crisis' in younger generations. It even illuminates the process that is causing the huge spike in young adults going 'no contact' with their parents.

When you adopt the victim mentality you're trading a few days of relief for decades of suffering down the road.

Beautifully done.

I've been this person. For most of my 20s. I blamed everyone else for my shortcomings. Only learned to be better by the time I was 30.

It's amazing how self-limiting this mindset is. It makes it feel impossible to take any action or make any changes to better your own life. And even when something is truly not your fault, it doesn't mean you can't take responsibility for what you do with that circumstance. That's how to take back your power.

Cried near the end. It’s amazing how easy it is to keep yourself the victim.

The problem here is 99% of people who end up on this path NEVER change, never admit their wrong, never want to change. And increasingly, the government, activists, education, society, f-minism, basically everyone who isn’t “evil” .. but actually ARE the problem, continually encourages it. Now look where we have ended up…

Harry Browne was a Libertarian candidate for president in 1996 and 2000. Here is one of his quotes: "A great burden was lifted from my shoulders the day I realized that no one owes me anything." People don't realize that when you blame other people and circumstances for your situation, not only are you not taking responsibility for your life, but you give your power away, too.

that was put in such a delicate way. I hope it reaches into the hearts of those who are totally consumed by victimhood. I was once like that. the only thing that got me out of it was an older stronger woman telling me to get up off the floor and stop being pitiful 😅

That was deep, powerful and uncomfortable. As truth often is

Remember its so much easier to blame everyone else than take responsibility on improving your own life. Clear message from the video.

There is a whole generation along with entire groups of people who need to watch and listen to this video. They are the ones who constantly play the victim in order to avoid responsibility and get what they want.

This video is exactly what I needed to hear today. I’ve taken on 18 credits of college classes which is most certainly overtime, and I keep blaming my professors and other people for pressuring me to take 18 credits when I’m the one who gave in. I need to keep this video in my mind forever…
